The interactive pirate-themed murder mystery dinner was a night to remember, filled with laughter, intrigue, and unexpected camaraderie. Guests arrived dressed as swashbuckling pirates, complete with eye patches, tricorn hats, and colorful bandanas, instantly immersing themselves in the adventurous atmosphere of the historic Berkeley Springs Castle. Reflecting on the night, it was remarkable how a group of strangers came together to create such a memorable experience. The combination of laughter, creativity, and teamwork left us eager to redo the night, hoping to relive the joy and excitement once more.

We decided to do the tour that was offered during the Apple Butter Festival. There is no parking at the castle, so we had to pay $20 to park in a lot, and hike up a very large hill. The castle was pretty, but it was NOT worth the $30 tour. None of the furnishings in the home were original to the castle, and a lot of the place has been modernized - I would have been just as happy touring the outside and getting to see the grand hall at the main entrance. The tour guide was AMAZING, but his wife (who was the “caboose” of the tour) was not so lovely.

Absolutely beautiful building that looks straight out of the 11th or 12th century, or maybe older or younger, not really sure, as I'm not a castle historian. This is a private estate or event area and the gates were locked when I was there, so I couldn't get closer without trespassing. Nice photo opportunity though. Also, the castle is listed on the National and State Historical Registers, which is really cool.

We had our July wedding ceremony at the Berkeley Springs Castle and we could not have asked for more! Pam, the castle caretaker, was very responsive and attentive to all our needs. Not only did she accommodate everything we asked for, including a WiFi extender so we could live cast our ceremony, but she also went above and beyond in letting us use some of the beautiful castle amenities, including candles and candlesticks, gorgeous punch bowl, and even small items like the coffee pot/ carafe. If you're looking to host a private party in the area, look no farther! This place is perfect for weddings, showers, reunions, you name it! Your guest will gush for weeks at the beautiful and historic location. And the price is very affordable for such an amazing location. And even if you don't host a party here, consider it for your photo shoots (engagement, wedding, family). It's impossible to not get an amazing shot with all the...

Should have called first. The castle is now apparently closed to the public and no longer doing tours. Had my son, stepson and his wife myself and my wife all travelled up to see the castle and grounds only to find them closed with no trespassing signs posted at the entrance. The saving grace was that we found our way to The Earthdog Café back in town and had some of the BEST food ever. The staff was friendly, attentive, and just as surprised as we were that there were no longer tours being given at the castle. If you get the chance, the trip to Berkeley Springs is well worth it just for the food...
