Planning: Scheduling was difficult. No one ever answered the phone. I called at least 6 times during business hours over a week before I spoke to a person. And the two times they tried to call back I was in a meeting. Eventually we did connect and were able to make an appointment. Thankfully I had started to try and get an appointment a month ahead of time. I highly recommend planning a month in advance due to this if you want to visit in a weekend or holiday.
Day of experience: We walked in, and I told the lady what we were there for. She asked us to read and sign a waiver. Then another girl quickly said somethings and left us to our room.
They have a towel for each person, a water cooler and cups, and you can add cold water to the bath and/or open the window for some fresh air to make it more comfortable. The water felt nice but there is only one seat space to relax in the water so you gotta stand, be on your knees, etc. to keep your head above water.
Other downfalls are there: there are only two restrooms for all the rooms and very little space in the room for changing.
I would think this is a common compliant and something the staff would be aware of, but when they knocked on the door a second time telling they had a very rude and accusatory choice of words about us ignoring them while we were in fact right behind the door drying off and getting dressed and a member of our party had already exited to make more space for the rest of us to get dressed. I have no issues with the reminder just how the very rude tone and choice of words. If it would’ve been a friendly tone even I might not have been irked but they rude and accusatory choice of words. If you want everyone out if that room in 10 minutes you need more space for more than 1-2 people to dry off and get dressed at a time.
Overall, it was a mediocre experience. Thankfully, the prices are reasonable. If the weather is nice I’d say the free outdoor experience is just...
Read moreI’ve been visiting this bathhouse on and off for several months, usually on Sundays and Thursdays. Overall, I’d describe the experience as hit or miss — sometimes relaxing, sometimes frustrating.
The facilities themselves could use attention. The pumps and bath temperatures are inconsistent, and the bathroom situation has been problematic for quite a while. For months now, there’s been only one working restroom due to a design flaw connecting the boiler room and women’s bathroom. At one point earlier this year, a temporary fix involved a pipe running through the only wheelchair-accessible bathroom, which really limited access for everyone. It’s not uncommon to see a line for the unisex restroom.
The staff are generally friendly, but it seems like there’s a high turnover rate — I’ve met many different employees across my visits. On weekends they’re often busy and less able to chat, especially when appointments run behind. Thursdays tend to be calmer, but sometimes only one person is on duty doing everything: check-ins, cleaning, phone calls, and more. It’s clear they’re doing their best under challenging circumstances, but having such limited staffing definitely impacts cleanliness, communication, and timeliness.
Another issue is maintenance and communication. I was told there’s only one maintenance worker for both bathhouses, which may explain why certain problems linger. Booking can also be confusing — there’s no online system, and the website’s contact info is unclear. Reaching the right number can take several tries.
Despite all this, I still visit occasionally because when everything is working, it’s a pleasant and affordable experience. I’d just recommend planning ahead, being patient, and maybe visiting on a weekday when...
Read moreThis was a terrible experience and the opposite of relaxing. We arrived 10 minutes before our appointment to sign in and pay. Online it said it was 14 dollars per person for the bath. We were told that those were the prices for the old Roman bath house and they have their own prices. They explained that their price was 24 dollars a person for half an hour which also would not include a shower unless we paid more. We agreed to the 24 dollar price and it came out to 120 for 5 of us. The woman who checked us in was polite. The attendant, Matt, came to take us to the bath was incredibly rude and said he’d try to get us in for 20 minutes because we were late and we said we were not late. He rolled his eyes and walked away. The bath area had one small basket for everyone to put their stuff but they didn’t offer a changing room. After 20 minutes there was a loud bang on the door and the water just drained. We exited the room and no one came to us. We showed ourselves out and complained to the front desk. The woman there was different from the woman who checked us in. I explained that we payed for half an hour and we only got 20 minutes. She said that What we paid for was for only 20 minutes and the 1/2 hour is for the old Roman bath house and they aren’t. The woman said they are accommodating the old Roman bath house’s guests and usually only people who get massages get the baths. So basically, she thinks she’s doing us a favor even though we paid 120 dollars. In the meantime, the woman who checked us in was standing in the back not saying anything cuz she knew they were being dishonest. Everything they say was inconsistent and dishonest. This was all...
