My parents and I came here after moving into my new apartment. I have been a vegan for 12 years, and in that time I've eaten a lot of vegan food, as have my parents (who are meat-eaters). The food at Veganish Vibes is in the top two things I've ever eaten, and the only place it's tied with I legitimately cried from eating. We had the Bacn Gouda Burger, the Red Beans and Rice, and the fried mushroom box with collards. All of us had the potato salad, and split the beignets, also.
My family is very, very Southern, so when I tell you this place has the best collard greens I've ever had, you best listen. My dad started smiling as soon as he smelled them. And the potato salad legitimately tastes exactly like my mom's -- I would've thought she was in the kitchen if she wasn't sitting in front of me the entire time. My dad said the burger here was one of the best he's ever had, including meat burgers, and that he doesn't think he can eat at any restaurant in our home town (which is known for its food scene) anymore.
The service was extremely kind, we had a full conversation with the owner about our homes, food, and dietary needs. She even made a point to cook everyone's food soft so that my mom could try all of it. The atmosphere is very chill, it's not snobby but is very sleek with classic vegan restaurant elements and some influencer flair.
I will be coming here as often as possible, and you should, too. Just get out of my way if they ever...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stopped here after leaving another spot disappointed because of the lack of vegan options. We are not from Baton Rouge so we didnt know that all we ever needed was VEGANISH VIBES! First I will say that the owner, her son, and everyone else who was there to greet us were so warm and lovely. She shared her story with us and gave us a full run down of everything on the menu. AMAZING! Second, I will say the FOOD WAS THE BEST VEGAN COOKING I HAVE EVER EATEN! She has this down to a science. Yall want a meal that will light your soul on fire and nourish your body???? Gotta try this place!!! I absoluetly will never pass through BR again without stopping here for something to eat. Everything we ate was PERFECT. It scratched an itch we really needed scratched. There are zero vegan restaurants where we live so its all up to us to cook usually or pick from the two vegan options on the non- vegan menu… if you know, you know… but anyway being able just to pick anything on that whole menu and know that is it vegan was such a stressless experience. Everything has its own delicious flavor and was honestly so spot on! YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE CHKN AND SAUSG GUMBO WITH THE POTATO SALAD OH MY GOOOOOOODDDDDDDDNNEEEESSSSSSSS! we got so many things because we couldn't stop ourselves and we were not disappointed by a single...
Read moreI WHOLEHEARTEDLY considered moving to Baton Rouge for this food! This is one of THE BEST vegan restaurants I have ever been too. One of the best vegan meals. I have tried vegan food up and down the western hemisphere. Only thing that comes close is a vegan taqueria in Mexico. The place is very homey, people are great and welcoming. I went back two days in a row for the Sweet Heat Chick'n Sandwich. They use fried oysters mushrooms. At one point I said uh uh that could have been a chicken thigh. A lot of times people rely on the breading and sauce too much and the mushroom isn't seasoned enough. NOT the case here. The creole/cajun influence is allll up in them mushrooms. Everything is perfectly seasoned. The fries have a slight cajun seasoning that isn't salty. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SWEET POTATO BEIGNETS. I had A TIME. They didn't have it day two, but I got the regular beignets, so we're more than good. Day two I got lunch AND dinner (Impossible ribs with collards, and green beans). I'm from out of town, don't know when I'll be back. But this is a DEFINITE MUST if I'm in the area again. May have to make myself be in the area again.
Edit: I had to come back after eating the "ribs". Shared with my non-vegan momma. She even asked for more of the lettuce that was just stuff under the ribs. It was...
