I've been to many organic and vegan restaurants. Whenever I travel I love to find a new one to try out. My boyfriend and I were spending the day in Salem and searched for vegan restaurants nearby to try. This one was out of the way but we decided to try it. When we walked in we weren't greeted by anyone and took a seat. We weren't acknowledged for quite a while and it wasn't very busy in there. Finally our waitress who was very sweet came over with our menus. We ordered our food and it took quite a while for our food to come out. We finally got our appetizer (buffalo broccoli) and that was actually delicious. I love all things buffalo sauce so it made me even more excited for my buffalo tempeh wrap. Around 10 minutes before our wraps came out, they brought us our side order of fries. They told us they ran out of fries so they just split one order in half for us which was actually totally fine. What sucked is that these fries were definitely bottom of the barrel, a bit burnt, and also quite cold. Then our wraps came out. Again, I had the buffalo wrap and my boyfriend got a burrito. They were both EXTREMELY bland. There was barely any buffalo sauce in mine, and none of the ranch sauce stated on the menu. I don't know how something that's supposed to be buffalo could taste so bland. The buffalo broccoli was soooo much better and would have been delicious as a wrap. It was mostly romaine lettuce and carrots. The tempeh also didn't at all taste cooked. It was like they just took it straight out of the package and threw it in there and as someone that normally loves tempeh, it was pretty gross. My boyfriend's burrito was also very flavorless and had NO sauce on it at all. It didn't taste like they put any of the hot sauce or pico de gallo on there so if it was on there it must have been VERY little. Overall just extremely disappointed with this place. I've never been to a vegan place where I didn't love the food. And it was very overpriced. $15 for a wrap that tasted like something I would throw together at midnight after drinking all night was a bummer. Either they are charging way too much for their bland food, or they are getting ripped off on their ingredients and not buying things wholesale like any good vegan restaurant that wants to actually...
Read moreHidden gem. Great place. Love that this restaurant is vegan forward and has many gluten free options. BUT- you’re not “missing out”. It’s awesome that the cuisine is focused on fresh whole food non-processed ingredients and it’s delicious!
Every time it’s impressive how fresh and tasty things are. I’m vegan and gluten free with some other food allergies and I so appreciate this place. I feel comfortable ordering food here. Ordering online is easy. For preferences, you can adjust certain meals to your liking (like changing dressing or adding toppings). They handle food allergies super well. You can go and sit down in the restaurant too.
I’d much rather eat here than eat somewhere else where food is more processed. Truly feels like eating out of a garden- but don’t assume it’s bland and boring. The menu lovely with a variety of different choices for everyone. Food is well balanced, filling, and delicious. Service is excellent. Staff is friendly....
Read moreAlmost everything has onion or garlic in it. With alium allergies it was almost impossible to find anything to eat except for over priced smoothie. Onion/garlic really isn't that healthy and no need for people with healthy diets.
This is in response from the restaurant. I did ask the girl behind the counter what my options were and they were almost nill. Smoothie was my only choice, and it was overpriced.
I won't eat only balsamic italian, it burns my mouth it's so acidic. So there....still hardly any options. Garlic and onions are not that healthy, it really isn't and not everything needs to be soaked in garlic, garlic powder or onions. Spices and hot things, are usually used to mask spoiled food. When food is truly fresh, and flavourful there is no need for garlic or onion, chili...
