The coffee here is not terrible. As an at-home barista, I enjoyed the espresso made with their beans. I did have more trouble with channeling than other brands, but the taste was still good. The low rating comes from their unwelcoming atmosphere and horrendous customer service. My initial experience with Dawson Taylor left me feeling unwelcome, almost embarrassed. I was not familiar with their buying process for whole beans, and the barista at the counter made me feel horrible when I asked simple questions. The general feel of their coffee bar is also... empty? Dry? Dark? No big deal, I figured it was just an off day for them. A week later I called and spoke with Megan about ordering whole beans to be delivered at my home. She quickly lectured me about how the point of doing online orders is to free up "labor" so they can afford to deliver at home. Because of this, they could not deliver orders made over-the phone or fill requests for 1lb bags instead of 12oz. Today I have found better service, ambiance, and coffee beans at another local...
Read moreMy first choice in coffee tasting this weekend was Dawson Taylor so I went straight there after checking out of my hotel. Upon arrival, Dylann greeted me with a shining smile. I knew this was going to be a good shop. The presence of dogs also made me excited plus everyone around was so nice. The Christian music playing in the background was a plus for me.
I asked Dylann for a sample of the espresso beans with a bit of vanilla flavoring, and it was very creamy plus the bold flavor of the coffee was amazing! It was still smooth despite the strength so I bought a bag of the Espresso Primo for my machine back home. I also got to try the Misty Valley drip coffee and it was interesting! Very subtle sweetness in the coffee. I love how they give you a free cup of drip coffee with your bean purchase! That only makes this experience even better!
I hope to be back again someday. Thank you Dawson Taylor for an...
Read moreWhy does no one know about this place? It's awesome. It was empty when I went in and I hope the business is doing okay. I came in and since I didn't see my go to caramel macchiato I didn't know what to get. The barista was the friendliest human I have ever met. She said she'd be my coffee therapist which made me lol and then walked me through the whole menu and asked what things I like and don't like and steered me toward their pecan praline latte. Apparently she makes the syrups for the drinks herself. Handmade ingredients for drinks, like real butter and pecans? What? No wonder my drink was seriously AMAZING. I loved it so much. They don't really have any food and I was bummed I couldn't get anything other than a bagel. Still, the coffee is so worth it. I will be back and I hope other people come too so this place...
