"Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first." -Ernestine Ulmer
171st person to review The Shed, downtown Boise, near Ann Morrison Park and Boise State Dorms. This is my 428th review on Yelp.
As Ulmer suggests above-- eat dessert first and here is a must! My friend and fellow Yelper, Dani S, treated us to deep-fried Oreo's at the end of our meal, which is amazingly delicious! The cookie becomes soft and the cream filling explodes with flavor as opposed to just eating, or dunking, and oreo-- interesting concept. They have only two desserts, Crème Brulee, and deep-fried Oreos. On our visit, the Crème Brulee was not set yet, which worked well for us!
This establishment is popular, especially the nightlife. Inside has multiple sports flags such as the Oakland A's, and the now Las Vegas Raiders. There are two outdoor areas-- both front and back porch, which accommodates about 7-8 tables.
A full bar and an averagely sized menu. The food was very good!
I ordered the shrimp avocado cocktail-- $9.50 The shrimp was ample, juicy, and served with a bed of lettuce with perfectly flavored cocktail sauce. The avocado was sparing.
Nachos- $11.50 + $2.00 to add chicken-- a super large portion size meant to be shared by many. The flavors were spectacular and blended well together. The jalapenos were fresh and large in size. Onion, tomato, refried beans, guacamole, sour cream and a blend of ranch dressings.
I tried one of my dining companions fries and they were super tasty-- she ordered a side of blueberry ketchup, which was extremely tasteful.
The drinks-- to me, they were a little pricey at $10 a drink, and nothing too special. They do have a menu with lots of good sounding drinks, but just meh for me. My dining companion Chanda ordered a drink with fresh mint which looked beautiful. I recommend the Shed Painkiller, especially if you like Pineapple, which I do! I also ordered the spiced Paloma, which I wasn't a fan of.
My recommendation-- GO TO THE SHED! Order dessert first, consume some drinks and enjoy your life, your friends, and yourself! Happy...

I am here to say I love the food and drinks here but I’ve had the worst experience with the waitresses. I would like to post this review in hopes that other people don’t recieve the same customer service I did today. I went in with two friend to have some dinner at about 7:30pm today. We sat at a booth and the service brought us menus. My two friends ordered cocktails and I asked for a coca-cola. The server took our order and checked both my friends ID’s. She then walked to go ring that in and shortly after the bartender approached our table and asked to re-verify my friends ID’s. They were a bit confused but showed them anyway. The bartender was bending them and really examining them. I thought this was strange but maybe they were cracking down on fakes. She then turned to me and said and “do you have your ID on you?” I said “oh- I mean I do but I ordered a soda..” so I pulled it out and she was bending and examining mine. My friend made a sort of joke and asked if we didn’t look old enough. (We are 23, 24 and 28). The bartender was ignoring our questions and we were asking what’s going on? She then just walked away without saying anything and went to the group of servers at the POS system and they were pointing and talking. We felt uncomfortable so we got up quickly and left. We called to try to speak to a manager however they did not pick up my calls and my friend was able to speak to someone who was rude over the phone. It is not about being ID’d but more so they did not explain why the second time was necessary nor why I needed to provide my ID when ordering the soda and igorned us and walked away when we...
Read moreI came in on 3/22 around 530pm. with my dog and went to the back patio where I tethered my dog and then proceeded into the bar to grab a drink. I was meeting someone for drinks and possibly food but I was early. Every single bar stool was occupied which wasn't an issue at all. The bar tender asked if I had been helped and I said "no, not yet". He then instructed me to go back out to my table where a server will help me. OK, that was weird. So, I went back outside. Not sure why he didn't want to serve me. I was in no hurry. I wasn't inpatient or rude. I was there to have a good time. After a short while I went back in and sat in an empty seat at the bar, hoping this time I'd be able to order a drink. The bar tender then rudely told me that if I had a table that I needed to go back outside and wait for a server to take my order because unless I had cash he wasn't going to run two separate tabs. OK, this was just plain rude. Unbelievable. I have never had a bartender refuse to serve me at the bar. I couldn't believe how unbelievably rude this guy was. He is what I like to call a 'tyrant bartender' and this guy will run your business into the ground. If he worked for me I'd fire him. I have no idea why I was refused service and why he was so rude to me. I was in complete shock. So, I went out back and grabbed my dog and left. It was very unfortunate because my friend and I had planned to spend quality time there having drinks and possibly food but because of him I left. Unbelievable. I own a business and If I treated my customers like that I wouldn't have a business. This bartender will run your business into the ground....
