Quaint, historic, cozy rooms some in period decorations, but best to call for reservation if you want a decorated room. I stayed a week visiting friends in BC.
My queen-sized room was on the small side, and I found it difficult to use my TRX strap in the room. The bathroom was tight, and I was surprised to find out from the staff that it was one of the larger baths within the set of queen rooms. The room has a surprisingly good, dedicated AC unit that had no problem keeping the room cool even with a western exposure (it was 116°F while I was visiting over the 4th of July). The bed was a new memory foam mattress which I'm not a great fan of, but it was good quality. The WiFi connections in the entire room area were 4-5 bars, and my test results in 10Mbps down and 5 up. Not stellar, but adequate, and certainly better than industry average IMHO.
All of the rooms are on the second floor, and there is an elevator just off of the lobby. The lobby is comfortable and a nice place to sit, read, or relax. The staff was always helpful, courteous, and friendly.
The attached restaurant, accessible from the lobby inside, creatively called The Restaurant, serves breakfast and lunch, and has a subset of items available for registered guests for no additional charge (gratuity not included). You can order anything on the menu though and they will credit you $3 per guest. I typically would order a two-egg omlette with fresh spinach and Jack cheese, hash browns, two pieces of toast, and juice which was included in the complementary breakfast. There would be a charge for second beverage, but the hotel provides freshly brewed coffee for guests on the second floor, and I would bring a cup into the restaurant with me. There is outdoor seating out front of the hotel which is quite nice when it is not too hot outside.
Great stay, and having started in other accommodations in Boulder City, I can say it is one of the better values in town. Good visit, and I really enjoyed my stay at...
Read moreWe have stayed in this hotel before and we found the experience excellent. This time is no different. The Hotel is set back in time and everything about this Hotel is excellent. Spacious reception area where you can relax in leather loungers and seats.Free coffee in the morning and evening. Even the elevator reminds us of the Twilight Zone. The Elevator is excellently positioned at the rear of the hotel right next to the rear parking area so no more that a few feet from car to elevator and up to your rooms with your luggage. Also a free museum to guests on its own floor. We stayed twice there this time the first at the start of a road trip and the second time the end of the road trip. The rooms are excellent and the Air Conditioner is one of the best we have come across as it drops cool air from above not from the wall as most units are set up. We had no towels on the second day upon our return but once we told reception this was sorted immediately. The only change from our previous visit was no longer was there any free breakfast. The previous stays the breakfast was not only free but excellent. This time it seemed to be run by different people. Maybe the hotel will revert it back to what it once was. Time will tell. The question is will I stay at this hotel again....Yes without any hesitation its...
