I’ve been coming here 10 years, steady the last five, so I know the routine , I come in and if no one is on the patio, I go inside and let somebody know I’m on the patio if there’s a few people already seated then I find an open table and flag somebody when they come out , so I flagged Kenzie I think that’s her name always wears shorts , So she comes over, gives me a mini lecture about I can’t sit there the tables are reserved (no sign ) I need to go inside and check with somebody, So I go inside and I see a cluster of people moving about sometimes the servers are sitting at a table to the right But I didn’t see anybody I stood there nobody helped so I went back out and sat at the table again With my wife , Just then Kenzie comes over to the table and says I guess it’s not reserved ,Shortly after that, a teenage server helper thin, blondish, red hair Walks out, just looked at us with no expression, put the utensils ketchup caddy down on the table did aboutface and walked away , I looked at my wife. We both said what’s going on here. As far as Kenzie, I always thought she was just going through the motions any small talk was. uncomfortable , I’ve never seen her look up from what she was doing and say hi guys how are you doing? Welcome back. Try the chicken wings check out this new beer , She’s compartmentalized she never was very friendly , and I’m really a good customer even if the orders not right I’ll take it and pay for it usually 25% tip. I think I drop four to $5000 a year in that place. To have a waitress like Kenzie drop a stink bomb like that , that’s really an attack on the owner , because the owner stuck with it the customer can just go down the street enclosing. Everything is fantastic about that place. Just get rid of the unfriendly and look for the...
Read moreI love beer. I love food. I love food with beer. On any given sunny Friday around lunch time, you’ll find my driving just slightly above the posted speed limit on the 95 freeway headed to glorious Boulder City to delight myself in the even more glorious Fish and Chips at the Boulder Dam Brewery. Yum. Add a frosty mug of suds brewed right there on the premises. Double yum. The fish and chips are a Friday only thing, so my girlfriend and I have the Boulder Dam Brewing company on our map of frequent Friday lunches. We’ve only had the fish and chips here, so who we can’t speak for the rest of the menu. The only downside is the service. Some days it’s fantastic. Other days it utterly sucks. Last summer we decided to pay a visit to the BDBC on a Saturday night. It was a beautiful night, so we decided to sit outside on the patio. There was a live band, which I usually hate because they play too loud and it’s hard to talk, but anyway, outside was our choice. Someone brought us a menu after a few minutes, but then never came back. After about 15 minutes, we figured we would go for a walk and check out other restaurants to see what we could find. Lucky for us, we discovered The Dillinger, which has great food, great service, and great beers, but that’s a topic for a later review. Boulder Dam Brewing Company. I give them a 4 out of 5 stars. If I could do 3.5 stars, I would do that. We still frequent this place for Friday lunches, but sometimes the service isn’t all there. Great food. Great atmosphere. Sometimes...
Read moreToday we decided to come here and try this place out. Gave them a call to make sure our kids can join. So if you got kids NO PROBLEM =) We came around 5 on a Saturday. This place is located in the awesome downtown area of Boulder City. Ok so their outdoor seating is nice. Tables and shade and nice pieces of industrial art to look at. I believe they have live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. We sat indoors because it was still hot out. So it's a seat yourself kinda deal. We found a table for us 4. I ordered a beer sampler of which came with 6 samples of the different beers they offered that day. ($11) Cincuenta Cerveza Powder Monkey Pilsner Hell's Hole Hefeweizen High Scaler Pale Ale Smash IPA Black Cherry stout The beers were good. Only bad thing is when I was trying to figure out which beer was which the waitress couldn't help me. I guess the bar tender mixed them up. But I think I figured out which was which. I also ordered a BBQ burger. It was delicious! We also ordered kilowatt sliders and Bavarian beer pretzel for the kids. Those were really good as well. My husband got the megawatt sliders and battered mushrooms. His stuff was yummy!! After reading bad reviews I was afraid to try the food. But I'm happy I did because everything was great. No disappointments here. My waitress was also super sweet. Bathroom was clean and offered free scrub when washing hands. I checked in using yelp and got $5 off our tab. So don't forget to do that if you're gonna check this place out. I'd...
