So disappointing that I have to write this review. This is our third time here and the first time was blown away by this small town sushi joint. We felt like we found a hidden gem!
The last time we visited, the service was horrible as well as the food. We brought family here ranting and raving about how good this place will be. First off, the order we placed was wrong multiple times and of poor quality. This is to include the 2 orders of Alaska rolls that we placed. We were given a Philadelphia roll with it versus the California roll. The one waitress (long blond hair) came over once we were all finished and we complained. She looked annoyed and said she would “check on it” for us - she never came back. The 2nd waitress who was more confident (was wearing 2 buns with reddish/orange hair) confirmed that it was wrong by looking at what we left. By the time the bill came, we were not compensated at all for their mistake. We requested 1 roll be taken off due to their mistake - it was obliged, but absolutely ridiculous that we had to request this.
Now, let’s move on to roughly 24-48 hours after eating at his establishment. 2 of our party members have now become violently ill with GI symptoms - N/V/D. The only 2 party members who have become ill ordered the oyster shooters. We will be filing an inquiry through the health department - but after this encounter and deduction of the party members falling ill vs. the ones that haven’t and comparisons of what we ate that dinner to what was eaten up until the time they have fallen ill - our logical conclusion is from the...
Read moreFor starters let me share that I always give restaurants a second chance if something goes bad, since I have worked in the industry for many years. This sushi restaurant is located in the community I love and I support, they just don't seem to reciprocate the same feeling. My family and I have ordered only to go orders a couple times of at minimum $100 per order with at least a 15% tip on the to-go order. The last two times we requested all sauce on the side of sushi rolls and both times sauce was put on. This last time I asked to speak with a manager to let them know what was going on and he seemed to be bothered speaking with me more than anything. I didn't want the order to be comped, maybe just a discount on the next order maybe? Instead he told me that he was sorry and that next time they will make sure it won't happen. Sorry but there won't be a next time, I don't want to eat soggy sushi for a third time from the same place. First 1 star review I have made so I hope this helps anyone that goes to this sushi in Boulder City. I will make sure to let the people I know to just make the short drive over the hill...
Read moreI’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. My wife and I were on a road trip across the western United States in October and one of our quick overnight stops was in Boulder City. We knew nothing about the place. We pulled into town around dinner time and we just happened to spot Momo Sushi and thought we’d give it a try. I am so glad we did.
I asked the waitress if the chef would do an “Omakase” style meal (chef’s choice), and she said he would. What came out over the next hour was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! Every piece of fish (or urchin) was fresh and delicious, and the preparations used in each dish were flavorful and fantastic. It was a more modern style than you would get at a standard old school sushi restaurant and it was great!
Two thumbs up for the chef and the wait staff. Highly...
