Backstop Sports Pub — Restaurant in Boulder City

Forget all the other reviews bitching about bar staff being drunk, not paying attention to customers not-being-local or dive bar audience. Just not true. Does not picture the actual experience. Backstop is a main reason why I keep coming back to Boulder City when staying in Vegas. Third year in a row. Being from Austria, Europe, it reminds me of my fav hangout in Vienna. Total home from home. Yes, it's smoky (Nevada, hello?!?), beer is 3$, bar staff is way beyond great service (especially Audra, who happens to be hot, I might add), locals are totally open to meet a foreign guy from Europe with blond hair and glasses (so no Redneck alert in the desert) and though it's a true dive bar, no bar fight has been witnessed yet :-) I know Boulder City pretty well – and the Backstop is a perfect gem after sunset (if you'd like to avoid the usual sports bar modeled after every single same-looking chain pub around those 50 states). Another of my favorite get a way bars. Located in Boulder city, this is my Monday night go to. Mr Manny hosts a comedy show every Monday night, which I just featured at. B rad and all the other staff are some of the best guys I've ever met. They are friendly, but let you know how it is if you break the rules, and for that, they have my respect. They offer pool, darts, some arcade machines, as well as a separate area put back. The drinks are great, great prices. They offer some snacks as well as cigarettes for you smokers. Tourists from the UK and during a couple of weeks holiday in Vegas we popped over to Boulder City a couple of months ago. Me, my wife and a couple of our friends stumbled across this bar… wanted to go in as looked like the real deal Americana bar we’ve seen in movies (neon beer brand signs, big pool tables, bar stools (not a thing in England)).

Didn’t disappoint at all. We felt really welcomed. Even created a bit of space at the bar so we could sit together. Oh and drinks were cheap as chips! Loved it.
