Beautiful tea room, good food and really nice owner Amie. Too bad I can't say the same for the server we had Mandy. She seems like a person who is not happy with her job and it shows in how she treats people. She is borderline rude at best, not at all accomodating and argues with you if she made a mistake. I have been here many times and never had a bad experience with the other servers. I came in with two friends. Mandy seated us in a room with a large party that was having fun and a bit loud. We asked if we could be moved to the front tea room where it was quieter and we could hear each other. This way they can have a nice time as they should Win Win you would think. Mandy said to me me " you are in the back of the room so you shouldn't hear it and that those tables in the front room were booked. She was basically calling me a liar and There was always at least one table or more available from the time we came in until we left! We pre ordered our food and my one friend told Mandy that she wanted the salad with the cheese and pecans in it and a cup of soup. Well instead got the toss side salad and soup combo. When she told Mandy the order was wrong. Mandy told her she got what she ordered and that was it. I told her that myself and our other friend heard her tell her exactly what she wanted. She again argued with us. Not to mention that she forgot my Broccoli cheddar soup from my pre order! I told Mandy that I have been coming here for years and I can't believe how she was treating us! She had nothing to say. I had Mandy one other time when I brought my mother and she wasn't much different but not quiet this rude. Needless to say that I will never go back to this tea room! Mandy ruined what should have been a delightful experience! It only takes one employee like this to destroy a beautiful business! What a shame! There is just no excuse for a...
Read moreWhat a lovely, satisfying experience! My friend, who I had not seen in 37 years, suggested this venue, making a reservation for us at 11:45, Tuesday, 6/23/20. Caylee met us in the drawing room area, wearing her mask, and greeted us warmly. She sat us at a table for two, by the window. A menu of all the teas was already on the table. It was so difficult to choose. Val had the English Breakfast tea and one other. I enjoyed the Caramel Cream and Brooksville Blueberry. We had enough for ourselves and to share a cup with each other from our personal pots. Delightful.
Val had chips and the chicken curry sandwich. I chose the tea tray that included four desserts (blueberry scone, cranberry white chocolate chip cookie, chocolate peanut butter cupcake, and chocolate mint parfait), four sandwiches (roasted red pepper, traditional cucumber, Florida orange, and chicken curry bread basket) and a sundried tomato quiche. Everything was so good and nothing disappointed. Nothing!
During our time together, we never felt rushed. We were there for a little over two and a half hours, and talked when we weren’t eating - and we savored every bite. While we were there, Caylee helped patrons at two other tables that were occupied twice. They were a safe distance apart from us and from each other.
Caylee was wonderful! She brought cream when we needed it, and made sure we had hot tea quickly - the first and second time. She brought us our food in a timely manner. We hope Caylee felt well tipped as we were there long enough for two others to be served at our table, and we would have left after an hour if we hadn’t had so many years to catch up on. We will be back, hope that Caylee is there too, and we won’t hog the table for so...
