We arrived at the restaurant earlier to avoid a large crowd. After being seated the both behind us was seated. One older woman, one younger woman, one child around 4 years old and one child around 2 years old. The youngest child in the highchair started to scream at the top of his lungs. Not cry but screaming at the top of his lungs. The women, grandmother and mother did absolutely nothing to quiet him. Absolutely nothing. This carried on throughout our dinner. As we were packing up to go I asked my waitress to see a manager. A manager by the name of Joy came over. I told her what had happen. All she could say to me was "well we are a family restaurant ". After my explaining some more abd offering a suggestion on how to avoid this problem in the future all Joy would say is that they are a family restaurant. Then she said "why didn't you asked to be seated elsewhere "? Our food had been served. Why should I have to move when the problem is a screaming child is the issue? Why should my meal get cold? No matter where we have been reseated we would have heard him. The parents should have taken the child outside to calm him down or given him something to eat to calm him down or paid attention to him to try to calm him down. No, they sat there and did absolutely nothing. This is exactly why children these days grow up with the "me first" identity. They don't respect anyone and they do what they want when they want. It's all about them and to hell with anyone else. When I was a child and we behaved like that my mother or father would remove us from the location, take us outside and talk to us. If we didn't behave we sat in the car until the rest of the family finished their meal. The child that misbehaved got sent to bed without dinner until the next morning. Believe me, we never did it again!! Parents do not know how to be a parent AND they do not care if they are disrespectful to those around them because they also engage in the "me first " general theory. I will not go back to this Olive...
Read moreI went a few months ago and my experience was .... horrible. I went after work with my daughter and sister we ordered our food and 2 cokes and 1 water (for me). The server kept coming by which I thought was weird, but I didn't think anything of it... I just thought she was being very attentive but in a weird creepy way. Anyway, at one point I asked for a refill on my water and she took my cup and came back with it. I looked at my cup and I was confused because there was coke instead of water in the cup. As I was about to tell her something she stopped me and asked if we had switched our drinks. I was again, CONFUSED and I asked her what she meant by that. She answered and this time she STATED we switched our drinks and she pulled out her notepad to write something down. Again, I'm confused... so I asked again what she was talking about. She then asked me if I wanted to add another coke to the order since we obviously switched!! At that point It all clicked and I was furious since she was obviously occusing us of sharing our drinks and she obviously thought it was a big deal enough to "try" to call us out about it. I quickly pointed out that she's the one who took my water cup and came back with the coke and I had ALWAYS been drinking water!! Seriously, the drink is $2-$3 why would she do all that over a drink!! The whole time she had been coming around wasn't to check in on us, it was to check that the drinks weren't being shared... which was RIDICULOUS. Even if we were sharing, which we weren't... she should have at least been certain that we were before accusing me of it and taking out her notepad only to put it back in embarrassment over a $2--$3 coke she obviously was soooooo obsessed about. So please!! If you get a server that's about 40-45 years old, Caucasian, female, tall, and plus size... Run! You may think you're going for a nice lunch/dinner but instead you'll be dealing with the Paul Blart of...
Read moreIt had been over a year since I had last eaten at an Olive Garden, and after my most recent experience there I'll probably be back soon. My boyfriend and I started with a really tasty shrimp appetizer. I don't recall the exact name, but the breading on the shrimp was a little crispy, with sauce and some lemon. I tried out the endless soup and bread sticks with the shrimp scampi past for the lunch option, and my boyfriend had the same with that pizza bowl.
Both appetizer, lunch options, and bread sticks were delicious! I've heard that Olive Garden's creamy sauces were great (but not the marinara/red sauces), so I'd like to try more of those.
However, the soups were just so-so. I got Zuppa Tuscana, which used to be my favorite soup when I used to go to Olive Garden. I was really disappointed to find that it had tasted a little watered down. My boyfriend got the Chicken Gnocci which was slightly better, but the chicken was dry. Even with this, I still rate 5 stars because of the other food and especially because of the customer service.
Analuisa (I'm sorry if I butchered her name) was an amazing waitress! When we were first seated she gave us a little rundown of deals and things that were going on, I probably would have gotten one of them if I wasn't so full of soup and bread at the end. She was also very kind, had a great attitude, and was great at making sure we were doing good at our table (stopped by regularly, which was nice). I wish waiters and waitresses at other restaurants...
