I came in on Tuesday June 18th and it was busier than usual given that it is summer. I came in the get Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise for the nintendo switch which should have been a simple 5 min run. There was 2 people working that shift and the one that seemed to be in charge was preoccupied with a costumer. The other was standing at the 2nd register (let’s keep in mind there is a line and I am apart of it) and not assisting any costumers. The person on register 2 seemed out of it just standing there, they didn’t assist any costumers for a couple minutes. I didn’t know if she was high, disabled, or just out of it at that current moment. (not to be rude. just an observation)The girl on the 2nd register announced that she was open so I went towards her. I stated “Hi just this” as i gestured to the card that was labeled $24.99 for a downloadable game. She started saying devices and trading in and was just rambling random things associated with trade ins. I was so confused. I gave her a confused stare and laughed slightly in confusion and then stated “I’m sorry I’m confused, I am just trying to purchase this”. She looked at me and asked if I had a phone number and I said no. She asked if I had an email and I said no. She than proceeded to raise her voice and say “You can not purchase anything here if you do not have a number”. I got extremely anxious as I felt as if I was being kicked out and all for me trying to PURCHASE an item. I started to look around in confusion and look at the women on register one, she came over telling the girl that was helping me that she cannot refuse service to a paying costumer. She than proceeded to take the girl that was helping me to the back. I stood there in confusion and in some slight embarrassment as I literally got yelled at for no reason. They took about a minute or two and came back a little refreshed it seemed like. It started to go well and she finally started to understand what I wanted, at this point I did realize the was not fully there mentally so I had to be patient. She asked for my number AGAIN which was irritating but whatever. She finally got the item rung up but I noticed it was $19.80 something (again the card says 24.99) before I paid, I informed her how it was lower than said amount on the card and I wanted to make sure it was right. She got irritated and proceed to say “this is what you wanted right?” than went on to telling me how it was right. Okay fine I pay cautiously. I get my receipt and behold it was for the 3DS instead of the switch. I stand there and so she asked if there was anything else I needed assistance with so I explained how I wanted it for the switch and pointed at the logo of Nintendo so she can understand. She than started rambling and started saying something about returning the item. I said “if that is easier for you than yes I would like to return this digital game for a nintendo switch” she than went ahead with attitude and proceeded to get agitated and upset with me. She than tried having me pay a dollar for what ever reason and I look at her in confusion and she stated “you wanted a refund” still in confusion I looked down and she than proceeded to ask if I wanted to donate for charity, when I skipped the donate button she raised her volume again and said “I can’t believe your not donating $1 to help selfless puppies” in a super judgmental tone. FINALLY the manager decided to step in after helping 3-4 people before me and told the worker that her attitude needs to calm down. If she needed to go to the back again, to go. She ofcourse said no and the manager started to help me and figure out the problems the young girl started in the system. The manager explained to me how she was going to make me a standard account just to refund me. The young girl just started going at the managers ear and saying “i can’t believe you are doing this without her consent. petco never did this” This entire time she had a rude tone. Made nasty comments under her breath and just was overall bad customer service. She can not be up front with...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Used 3 cards from 3 different institutions to try to order a $7 game. All rejected orders. Used paypal, the order registered and I was told I have to wait 24 hours for the order to finish processing. The following morning I see it was cancelled. I called up, the rep said it's a problem with the fraud processor. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and they told me their busy in a meeting but will back. After 6 hours I called back, and they told me supervisors don't have the ability to call out. They told me to go into the store. I asked for the name of the fraud detection company so I could clear up whatever problem they're having and they said they don't know. At this point I've used 4 cards from different major financial institutions all under my name/address, used my email, installed an app on my tablet, tried a different browser, used my PC, gave them my phone number, used my paypal account, I think that's more than enough to prove my identity. They provide no other option to fix this other than to find a gamestop store. So for some reason I'm effectively banned from online and they don't know why. They still think I'm trying to cheat them out of $7*2 game. Way to make a customer feel like a criminal you're a poor excuse...
Read moreThis is the closest Game Stop to me and I have typically had a good experience. HOWEVER. Me and my boyfriend went there last week to look for "Far Cry Primal". We wanted it used. We went up to the counter where one employee said it was unavailable USED. Alright, no big deal. We went back to the wall of options and saw that it WAS listed as available USED. So I told boyfriend it might still be on the wall by mistake.... They probably still don't have it. So we went back to the counter, just to check, where another employee (a thick white guy; which matters cause HE was the ASS and might help you single him out) said "Well the OTHER EMPLOYEE was just telling you what IS IN stock." So boyfriend was still holding the box that said "Far Cry Primal USED"in his hand and said, "Oh.... Okay.... Well do you... want this???" Meaning the EMPTY USELESS BOX. The employee said, "Yea, I guess," grabbing it hastily and staring at us to leave.... Seriously? I've worked in customer service for 9 years. That is NOT how you speak to someone. You say: Oh man... That must've been out there by mistake. I'm sorry, we don't have what you need. Thank you for bringing this up to us. I apologize for the inconvenience." Every female employee has been a gem. Try to keep up...
