CAVA — Restaurant in Burbank

The first few times I went to this place my portions were HUGE! I just left this place and I got about half the amount of food that I usually get. I stopped going to Chipotle because of their small portions and hope I don’t have to do the same with this place.

UPDATE: I got home and turns out my chicken was missing from my chicken and rice bowl. Luckily I live 3 minutes away so I went back to the store and a worker said she’d remake my bowl if I went to the back of the line. I did so and I asked another worker if I could upgrade my bowl to a steak bowl for free for the inconvenience. He went to go ask his manager and he came back with a cup of steak. I told him that the manager threw away my old bowl and that I needed a new one. The manager then came out of her office, threw away the side of steak and told me that I need to make sure her employees put the chicken in my bowl next time. I told her that it wasn’t my job look after her employees and she rolled her eyes at me. Then I went to get my next bowl, the employee told me that they were out of two items in my bowl. Fed up with the whole situation, I just asked for a refund. The manager came out of her office again and asked me if I remembered the exact amount of money my bowl cost. I said no and she looked at me like I was a complete idiot. I asked her if she could look up my order in the system and she repeated herself so I reluctantly pulled out my phone to check my banking app to see how much the order was. Cindy is the best. I come to this location pretty often and I'm always happy with the service I get from her. She's professional and very kind. You can tell from talking to her that she's compassionate and caring.

Other than that, the only issues I sometimes run into are with a few of the other workers. Hailey is very slow and extremely unprofessional. She's always talking with her coworkers while they're trying to work and serving you is the least of her concerns.

There's another extremely unprofessional worker who usually works in the back. Pretty sure he's a manager, unfortunately. Most rude and careless employee I've encountered in my life. Not an understatement. He has such a terrible attitude towards you as if you owe him an apology for being there. Very unwelcoming energy. I ordered a full portion of grilled chicken and he gave me two quarter scoops. Not even half scoops, literally quarter scoops. And when I asked for a little more he had the audacity to say it's going to be charged extra. I have no problem paying extra for a double portion but if I'm paying for a double portion, I expect a double portion, not a quarter. I was extremely disappointed that they would give someone like him a managerial position. Too young, too rude, too entitled to be given any authority over anybody else there. I wish I got his name to mention but he didn't have a tag on.

Overall, you will have a great experience here as long as Hailey and that other one don't serve you. You'll be lucky if...

The food here was pretty tasty, but I don't feel like I'd return. At least not often.

We got a bowl and a pita, and portions are ample. Wanted a bowl with some rice, lentils and greens, but was told no greens if I got the other two. Weird. Opted for just lentils and greens. I wouldn't get lentils again as they were too hard. Almost like they were not cooked in any way.

Another issue was the 'toppings' which they certainly offer a lot of options, but the area was a mess, and many items ended up in the wrong trays. Subsequently. I don't eat olives, but they ended up in my bowl because some had gotten into another tray that the guy scooped from. Something for people that may have allergies to consider. Also, it was odd they were out of pickled red onions.

Service was friendly, even though it was one guy working the line, he got us through pretty quickly. They were good about getting to orders for people in the store, but I am not sure how it translates for on-line orders.

Finally, the floor behind the counter was filthy, and the seating area and trash cans were a mess. Trash was overflowing. It just doest feel...
