Since the Lonoke Taco Bell/KFC finished their remodeling inside work a few months ago, it seems to have been a boost to the employees who work behind the counter as well as to the dine-in guests. The food and service have both inproved. The TB fare is prepared with eye appeal, as well as for the stomach. The shells are warm & crispy. Unless you prefer the soft tortillas- I do- in which case they are soft, fresh and moist. And in the current heat wave, add some cool Pico de Gallo (also called the "Fresca" style, but they sub it for the sprinkling of grated cheddar!) I want both on mine! If you are not familiar with the term 'pico de gallo' it refers to a garnish made with chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, Cilantro, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper and a little oil. This is allowed to marinate the flavors and then added to the tops of the tacos. Taco Bell/KFC doesn't add in the hot peppers that are normally in Pico de Gallo, so no worries there if you are sensitive to peppers. It's just refreshing tomatoes, onions and Cilantro! So good!! The Grande Nachos box is a feast for the eyes and mouth with several different wonderful Mexican flavors dolloped around the top! Bright green, very mild, Guacamole and cool, snow white Sour Cream balance on top of the chip triangles in the Nachos Grande box, which 2 could easily share. I ordered the beef version and thoroughly enjoyed it And the Colonel's KFC is always a popular option to satisfy your cravings! For us Baby Boomers, the sight of that rotating giant bucket on the highway meant some great tasting fried chicken was just minutes away!🚗 We also remember the REAL Col. Harlan Sanders. There's no substitute who comes close to him in his genuine personality, charisma, love of people and his belief that his KFC was the best there was. Besides the fact that the KFC chicken is always hot, moist, tender and tasty, they have some of the best sides offered! Personally we love the coleslaw, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans and mac 'n cheese! I have been known to finish my sides before I finish my tenders! #veggiescraving! And those biscuits!! KFC should be famous for those hot, flaky biscuits! I have to ration mine or it won't last through my meal. 😋 Lonoke's new improved dining area has a large round table right up front for larger families or groups. It is positioned right under this cool lighting fixture with a replica bucket. It's very snazzy! The drinks area is cleaner than before. Unfortunately they took out the sauces, condiments, utensils table, so you have to ask for any of these items that you want. This particular Taco Bell/KFC is always busy, being on I-40, so expect to wait a few minutes for your food, but hey, it's gonna be hot and fresh made when you open the lids or wrapper! And that's what you are looking for! You know what they say: "Winner! Winner! Kentucky Fried Chicken Dinner!" Ok, so they...
Read moreREVIEW UPDATE - 12/13/2024 While ordering in the drive-thru, the male in the back was very disrespectful. He was cussing and talking about us obviously pissed that we were there so late placing an order. (I assume he was the cook bc he walked from the preparation area around to the window to get a glimpse at us when I was there paying.) I do admit that it was extremely late & close to closing time. However, we weren't the only ones there in the drive-thru. Regardless, it was still during their open hours, and as a customer, we did not deserve to be disrespected the way he did
Also, the food we were given was incorrect, it feels as if it were a purpose mistake bc of how the guy felt about the order we placed. We ordered two #9's, this combo comes with a Mexican Pizza & 2 taco supremes. The tacos we received were just plain tacos, they were not supreme.
** On a plus side the drive-thru cashier, BETHANY K was great! She was friendly, curious, and professional. ❤️Thank You Bethany. ❤️ Bethany is the only reason I am leaving my overall rating a 3 star. If not for her it would definitely be more of a 0 star. 2019 - Slow service. Not...
Read moreAfter being in the States for over a year, I finally decided to give Taco Bell a try. To be honest, the first two attempts left me less than impressed, and I found myself thinking I'd prefer almost any other fast-food joint over it.
But the third time I ventured in, and let me emphasize, it will also be the last, was nothing short of a culinary disaster. I ordered what's known as the Mexican pizza, thinking it might be a different experience. Boy, was I wrong.
The moment I took a bite, I knew something was off. The meat had this strange and unappetizing flavor that I just couldn't stomach. I tried to power through, but it was a futile effort. I couldn't finish the dish, which says a lot since I'm usually not a picky eater.
To make matters worse, that night, I went to bed with a lingering queasiness, half-expecting to wake up in the middle of a food poisoning nightmare. Thankfully, I managed to sleep through without any major issues, but it was a close call.
It's safe to say that my experience with Taco Bell has been less than stellar, and I've decided that my feet will never, ever step into a Taco Bell again. The risk simply isn't worth the...
