After a long 6.5 hour trip, we stopped here for some much needed breakfast. My sister had been speaking about grabbing a biscuit all morning. The store was empty only 1 person was dining in, no one in line. We ordered quick and the food came out, we asked for water cups because none of my family drinks soda. And this is when the awkwardness from the employees started. We wait at the front counter and our bag of food is passed from the front cashier to the person working expo window. After about 10 seconds of stares, glares, and no communication from the employees that the food arrived my mom politely asks the expo person, "is that our food?" She says yes and pushed the bag towards her. I'm asking my family what has happened because at this point we have about 3 women employees staring at us awkwardly and rather uncomfortable. The cashier, the expo, and the food preparer. My mom asks for jelly, since none was provided in our bag. We're given 4 packets of jelly, for 4 biscuits and 2 orders of onion Bo-tatoes (hashbrown rounds). We ask for additional jelly this time grape. We are handed two. So normally a person eats about 2 jelly packets. We ask for more, and the cluelessness and awkwardness of the employee continues. We're hawked down with their eyes for some reason. We finally get the jelly and we ask for an additional 2 cups for water. It seems like a bit of a hassle, but we were provided with them. Meanwhile, my sister ask the women, "are you guys having a good morning?" None of them just answer. It's like an episode of the movie "Get Out" they just stare at us weirdly. It starts to become unsettling for us, so I jokingly as the women, "why are you guys being so weird?" They answer what? And I say again, "you guys are being awkward." So one female walks away as if she does not speak English and the front cashier says, "they asked us how our morning is going." And the expo employee walks to the food preparer and starts speaking to her telling her how they are being awkward. During this entire time, we get straight stared down by the food preparer very aggressively. Then we have the cook come from the back as if he is ready to step in. I explain to them we waited all morning for your guys to open and this entire experience is very unusual. Not sure why the employees behaved this way or if they were still waking up and getting acclimated to the day.
I failed to mention the food, because reviews should be about the food as well. The hashbrowns we ordered reeked and tasted of ONIONS. I hate onions! It was so much onion flavor that I immediately became sick. We ordered 2 orders of hashbrowns and only 1 tasted like onions. After the atmosphere, I had no desire to go back and make the staff aware that it taste like I was eating a fried onion ring. Trust me it was AWFUL.
This is my last time visiting a bojangles. After 3 2 other separate incidents I am done giving this business chances. Thanks,...
Read moreOrdered from here through Uber Eats. Got a 3 piece dark meal. There is no biscuit in thr box. Like I said before, always something with this location.
Ordered a steak sandwich combo. The picture appeared to have lettuce, tomato, cheese, possibly bacon. Got home--no cheese. Calera location closes at 5PM. That's FIVE in the EVENING, when the sun is still out. Today, 15 mins on dark meat. Fine. I come back through the drive thru, holding 20 mins on all bone-in chicken cuz they just sold 2 20-piece meals. How did u sell 20-piece meals when u didn't have all the pieces AFTER u refused 2 sell me a 3-piece plate cuz u were holding on dark? So if u buy a large meal they'll let u wait. If u just want a plate or 2 they're out. Once I bought a 2-piece dark meal, got home and had a breast and leg. I don't like bone-in chicken breasts. Got a family meal that came with a free half-gal of sweet tea. Got home and they had given me an unsweetened tea. I know I didn't ask 4 it cuz I don't drink unsweetened tea. I love sweet tea, except Red Diamond and Barber Ready Leaf. So I'm never eating here again. I like the food. But it's always something wit them. I work far away. I will buy chicken out of town before I...
Read moreWhen we pulled up, I noticed two guys in a car parked right next to the front door drinking Miller Lite in their car. Went inside and ordered. While we were waiting for our food (which was a significant amount of time) I noticed the two guys that were drinking in the parking lot come inside. I was shocked to see them both walk behind the counter - they are both employed here! The one guy who was wearing a maroon shirt and a hat never put a mask on and never removed his earbud. I also never saw him wash his hands. He appeared to be working the grill. Disgusting! Our food (two combos) took over 20 mins to make and the Sierra Mist I ordered tasted like it didn’t have any syrup in it at all - basically just carbonated water. While we were waiting two men came in to order and ending up leaving because no one so much as greeted them. I gave a single star because the food we ordered was actually hot when we got it so that deserved something, I suppose. All in all, very disappointed and would not come back here if I was paid to. Should have...
