The Bedford is a beautiful example of a Victorian Era of the late late 1800’s early 1900’s. We were there for our 50 th wedding anniversary. The “pet friendly” room at the end of the hall by the back escape stairs was cozy. The breakfast was amazing and the staff did a great job with my gluten free diet. I do not think I would return there again because I was told originally that my to tiny 7 lb Yorkie dog could be brought in through the front door, as long as I held her. It’s a “Foyer” NOT a common space. Once there I was told I could not bring her into a common space, I had to use the back stairs to bring our dog up and down. Oh yes, and to keep her quiet. Really! She was quiet but how can one tell their dog to be “quiet?” My poor husband had to use the access back stairs three to four time a day. They were steep and we are seniors. He with a knee replacement and me with brand new hip replacement. It was totally humiliating and we felt like we were being chastised for having a dog. Yet the owner herself allowed her dogs into the foyer the day we left to meet us!! The guests saw her dogs and petted her dogs. Bedford Proprietors, please do not advertise that you are a pet friendly B and B, because clearly you are not. We were on edge that entire weekend. We were constantly worried we would be thrown out of our dog made a peep. I was told another couple had been asked to leave because of their pet. Do not say you are pet friendly. You are definitely not friendly to your guests pets at all. It was a most annoying way to have spent our 50 th wedding anniversary. We also own a vacation rental property and I know how to treat our guests with decorum. We are also “pet friendly” in the true sense of that word. RP…..RN, CNN, CDN and also...

Our room was on the top floor and the cleanliness was second-to-none. Crisp white bed sheets with white pillows that looked like they came out of a catalogue, the presentation was immaculate. Not a speck of sand from previous guests or dirt, the room feels like you are the first person to have ever used it. I literally could not find any dust or dirt in my room, ‘flawless’ would be the most appropriate adjective for describing the room. Whoever does the cleaning is top-notch A+.
Roxanne and Paula were on their A-game the entire time, for example, while eating breakfast it had gotten to a point where before I could ask for more coffee or juice that it would seamlessly be refilled. Their strong attention to detail and service is impeccable.
Roxanne made a scrumptious quiché for breakfast accompanied by fresh blueberries, raspberries and cantaloupe that was heavenly.
While we did not want to leave our stay at the Bedford Inn, we can rejoice knowing that we can come back another day to make new memories at this special place that...
