We had a lovely time at the Bedford Inn. From the moment we called ahead to confirm our arrival, the staff was warm and attentive. Ashley greeted us and made us feel right at home, offering recommendations on places to eat and explore. She also shared the story behind the transition from the Queen Victoria to the Bedford and gave us helpful directions to afternoon tea at the Prince Albert, which we really appreciated. Jamie helped host a few breakfasts during our stay, and the two of them worked together seamlessly. The rooms were spotless, housekeeping was offered each morning during breakfast, and the tea and water bottles in the common room were always fully stocked, which was such a nice touch. One of the highlights was visiting the other Queen Victoria properties and enjoying tea at the Prince Albert. The pecan pie was my favorite, but the food throughout our stay was delicious. I do miss the beach passes Paula used to offer, though I understand they may still be figuring that out. Overall, our stay was relaxing, cozy, and full of thoughtful details. We would absolutely return.

Nice B&B in a convenient location. The rooms are small, but cozy. Paula, the owner, warmly greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. Each guest party is assigned a 4-digit code that enables access to the building and their room. No need to carry a room key. We were in a first-floor room that was nicely apportioned. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The service was excellent. The room was made each day. Paula and staff tended to our every need. Paula's breakfasts were great! She also has coffee ready at 0600. The Bedford has a water cooler - perfect for filling water bottles and an ice machine for filling coolers. The Bedford offers WIFI. Like most of Cape May, parking is limited. The Bedford has parking for about 5 cars on the premises. The good thing is that there are no meters on Stockton Street. We were able to get an on-street spot and just kept the car parked for our two-day stay. The convenient location makes most shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The beach is only a block away and the Convention Center is two blocks away.

The Bedford is a beautiful example of a Victorian Era of the late late 1800’s early 1900’s. We were there for our 50 th wedding anniversary. The “pet friendly” room at the end of the hall by the back escape stairs was cozy. The breakfast was amazing and the staff did a great job with my gluten free diet. I do not think I would return there again because I was told originally that my to tiny 7 lb Yorkie dog could be brought in through the front door, as long as I held her. It’s a “Foyer” NOT a common space. Once there I was told I could not bring her into a common space, I had to use the back stairs to bring our dog up and down. Oh yes, and to keep her quiet. Really! She was quiet but how can one tell their dog to be “quiet?” My poor husband had to use the access back stairs three to four time a day. They were steep and we are seniors. He with a knee replacement and me with brand new hip replacement. It was totally humiliating and we felt like we were being chastised for having a dog. Yet the owner herself allowed her dogs into the foyer the day we left to meet us!! The guests saw her dogs and petted her dogs. Bedford Proprietors, please do not advertise that you are a pet friendly B and B, because clearly you are not. We were on edge that entire weekend. We were constantly worried we would be thrown out of our dog made a peep. I was told another couple had been asked to leave because of their pet. Do not say you are pet friendly. You are definitely not friendly to your guests pets at all. It was a most annoying way to have spent our 50 th wedding anniversary. We also own a vacation rental property and I know how to treat our guests with decorum. We are also “pet friendly” in the true sense of that word. RP…..RN, CNN, CDN and also...

There are several B&Bs spread out in Cape May, but this particular one is a classic gem that has to be experienced in order to truly appreciate it’s unique charm.

Our room was on the top floor and the cleanliness was second-to-none. Crisp white bed sheets with white pillows that looked like they came out of a catalogue, the presentation was immaculate. Not a speck of sand from previous guests or dirt, the room feels like you are the first person to have ever used it. I literally could not find any dust or dirt in my room, ‘flawless’ would be the most appropriate adjective for describing the room. Whoever does the cleaning is top-notch A+.

Roxanne and Paula were on their A-game the entire time, for example, while eating breakfast it had gotten to a point where before I could ask for more coffee or juice that it would seamlessly be refilled. Their strong attention to detail and service is impeccable.

Roxanne made a scrumptious quiché for breakfast accompanied by fresh blueberries, raspberries and cantaloupe that was heavenly.

While we did not want to leave our stay at the Bedford Inn, we can rejoice knowing that we can come back another day to make new memories at this special place that...

The Bedford Inn Victorian Bed & Breakfast was the ideal choice for our wedding anniversary getaway! We immediately felt at home as Paula welcomed us with open arms and showed us around her beautiful property.|Our room was spotless and perfectly appointed for our visit. A shout out to Mila for her dedication to keeping our room in pristine condition each day!|The dining room includes a one-of-a-kind hand-painted mural (see how many dogs & cats you can pick out!). The house also includes both an enclosed and an open-air porch on the first level. Perfect for any weather.|Breakfast each morning was a 5-star meal prepared by our chef, Leslie, while Mary Ellen took care of our dining needs. What a wonderful way to start the day!|A wide variety of hot tea is available throughout the day, and there's a special treat scheduled each afternoon. We enjoyed a wine & cheese sampler the first day and homemade cookies the next. Each was enjoyed on the 2nd-floor balcony (perfect for sunset viewing, too).|We have stayed in Cape May before, albeit at different Inns. While this was our first visit to the Bedford Inn, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in the future. |See you...
