Good rate most.of the time. The price of a king sized room ranges from 72-85$ per night. Obviously if you buy more nights the price lowers but not by much. One of the most inexpensive places in north county San Diego. No partying or riff raff. It seems that the carlsbad police like to patrol the parking lot from time to time must scare off the people that may be up to no good. Rooms have no storage for any of your belongings, no drawers no closet space, no hangers. NOTHING! I find this to be very irritating. There are two night stands that are attached to the wall with two small shelves. Not much space for anything other than a purse. Toiletry bag etc. I hate how there are no FITTED sheets.. which makes it weird trying to.tuck yourself in under the covers, you end up pulling the sheet supposedly is the equivalent to the fitted sheet; on top of you... then you are directly on top of an annoying plastic mattress covering. Ugh... uncomfortable, for sure. The bathroom sink had a rank foul.smell of dead decomposing body coming from it and I finally figured out what it was, water was getting trapped in this hole near the top of the sink wall that is directly across from the faucet. It rots and gets stale and causes this disturbing odor. I couldn't stand to brush my teeth no joke... Management is a gentleman and I believe his wife. They seem to be scarce throughout the day. Other than to collect money for people checking in and pounding on doors to those needing to pay you cant find them anyplace.. the maids are pleasant because the language barrier so asking them for items is a task.in a half. I had been reprimanded by one because I was out running errands and when I got back around 2-230p.m and brought my linens (sheets comforter, towels, pillow cases, etc) I was told it needed to be done earlier because they were done with all the laundry. Well excuse me... I.dont like people entering my room when I'm not present so the only chance I had to turn in laundry was the time I did. Maids aren't there until 10a.m. lastly if u need linens the managements wife matter of fact stated towels and linens were to be grabbed during the time house keepers were present... seems kind of rude and lazy if you ask me. So overall for the price and taking into account all the variables, the cost is barely worth the stay. But sometimes you dont have many options on hotels and this was the one we opted to stay...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Upon arriving in the lobby you will find many postings warning You of Human trafficking!!! How welcoming! 🤔 When I got into my room I first looked at the bed and the sheets which were covered in yellow stains And plenty of hair.!!! The pillow cases were also covered in hair. I went to the lobby and told the front desk. He offered me 2 flat sheets.. and said they don't have any more pillow cases!! But I can put a flat sheet over the pillows!! The bed is made up of a flat sheet on top of another flat sheet on top of a mattress cover which is covering a filthy stained up Yellow and Brown mattress... disgusting!! So then I had to make my OWN bed... The new sheets still had black hairs on them... my hair is red... Totally unacceptable! If you want to smoke be prepared to go into a little dark corner in the back of the parking lot... Which Included people sleeping in their cars! Felt SO UNSAFE (They warn of human trafficking but they Don't mind having their guests stand in a dark corner in the back of the parking lot)!! I'm a woman and I've experienced very bad things... Anxiety and PTSD FULL FLEDGED!!! The pillows themselves were completely yellow and completely stained!! Old and very uncomfortable BED and PILLOWS (or sheets to lay your head on, in my case)... Microwave did not work phone did not work light in bathroom did not work outlet for USB and plugin did not work I had to charge my phone in my rental car!! Great thing I had one, I would have been screwed!! Absolutely the worst hotel experience I've EVER had.. OH! Also, I asked for a 1 hour later check out and I was told I'd be charged $25! Check out time is 11 AM so tell me why I get a knock on my door at 9 AM for maid service, they did not speak A Lick of English. I said I am checking out at 11 AM then, a 1/2 hour later, I get another knock on my door!! THEN... 40 minutes before checkout I get a phone call from front desk telling me it is 40 minutes until check out time!!! Oh my goodness!! Completely excessive and pestering! Don't give them any of your money. Don't stay here, pay an extra 50 bucks, stay somewhere better... the Motel 6 next door was probably better! 😏 I have no idea how people are posting great reviews on this place... unless...
Read moreScored a great deal on this hotel through Agoda for nearly $40/night so experience may be limited to this budget King bedroom. Staff was friendly and kind, but no one had a name tag. It looks like a family run place as owner has their own unit next to front office that seems attached. Room had no window facing parking lot so it looked like a random closet door from the outside but that’s an exception as nearly all the rooms had windows facing parking lot. There was a musky, almost smoker type odor to the room that we aired out but seemed to linger back in when we would return each day. As you can see from pictures, you can tell they updated things as best as possible but it’s a simple setup.
Pros: -lots of seating (2 chairs and a bench) -lighting is bright -A/C worked perfect and kept room at good temp -Fridge and microwave in the room -Location! near a park and Carlsbad Village, so there a ton of good dining, the mall is nearby and a real good church (NewSong) a few buildings down. -Laundry on-site
Cons: -Linens are tenured and stained. They were clean but you could tell they’ve got some time on them. Only had 2 bath towels, one was soft and the other scratchy, then floor towel. No washcloths. Bed pillows were also different, 2 were a crumbly foam and other 2 were normal fluffy. -No bed/reading lights. Spotlights in room are all bright, so it’s hard to create dim, relaxed lighting -Fridge was well used, had tape holding beverage holder together inside and made a clinking noise throughout the night. (But it worked fine keeping things cool) -No iron or ironing board -No breakfast or even coffee in lobby. (Room does come with cheap hotel coffee pod maker) -If your room is near the street/freeway side, the windows are not double-pane so it can be noisy when the loud cars/motorcycles decide to race by.
Overall: If your pinching your penny and looking for a super basic place to stay, this works. It would get the job done for solo travel. But for a family or couple looking to have a place you feel comfortable to lounge/relax in, it will be difficult to...
