If this was my first Autograph Collection experience I think I might have been slightly more impressed with my experience, because the hotel does have a very unique sense of art and luxury. That said, compared to say the Asheville Autograph location I found this location to suffer in comparison. For one it’s a lot smaller. Part of the joy of staying at an Autograph is looking at all the art, and here because the location is so compact a tour through the hallways of the hotel doesn’t take very long. The downstairs gallery is slightly bigger, and there is an atrium gallery on the 2nd floor, but even this is problematic since a view into this fairly unimpressive collection, to me at least, is your view for many of the rooms. Which also means you can view inside many other rooms in addition to the atrium, so be prepared to have your curtain drawn a lot. I also found it problematic the hotel is so small that they have to park your car several blocks away. I recommend getting everything out of your car when you arrive because while the hotel staff is very nice and accommodating, retrieving your car again once it’s parked is quite the hassle. All that said because it is so compact you get to stay in a prime location in Charleston. You’re a street over from King Street which is the fancy shopping district, you’re a quick walk from dozens of fantastic restaurants, and you’re real close to the more touristy areas of the city like the waterfront and the famous market. So in regards to the hotel itself, I found myself really unimpressed and disappointed even. That said if I ever find myself in Charleston again you can’t get much better in terms of location, so I can’t say I would never stay here again. Especially since I missed out on several of the events they have at the hotel like the wine mixing. I enjoyed myself, but I think it could have been better.

The Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Charleston's historic district. The hotel is known for its stunning architecture, its luxurious accommodations, and its excellent service. I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston for a weekend getaway, and I had a truly unforgettable experience. The hotel is located in a great location, just steps from some of Charleston's most popular attractions, including the Battery, the Old City Market, and the Charleston Museum. The hotel is beautifully designed with a modern and sophisticated style. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and they feature plush bedding, well appointed bathrooms and interesting artwork. During my stay, I had the opportunity to have a massage at the nearby The Spa of Charleston and workout at Pivitol Fitness. The massage was amazing, and it helped me to relax and de-stress after a long day of sightseeing. The workout at Pivitol Fitness was also great, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The service at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston is top-notch. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they go above and beyond to make sure that guests have a memorable stay. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston. The hotel is stylish, luxurious, and convenient. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Charleston. Here are some of the things I loved about the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston: Stunning architecture and artwork Luxurious accommodations Excellent service The Spa of Charleston nearby Pivitol Fitness adjacent to the hotel Restaurants and bars within walking distance I would highly recommend the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Charleston.

It’s a good hotel with beautiful, engaging art hanging everywhere, but I wasn’t overly impressed with the service, amenities, or food for the price. I came here for a business meeting, so we also utilized the meeting rooms and hotel dining during our stay. I wouldn’t stay here again, but it’s a fine hotel — I just expect more for over $700 per night. What went well: My room was quite spacious, with a lovely seating area overlooking the hotel's patio and street. The king bed and bedding were comfortable. The bathroom had good lighting and provided shampoo and conditioner, which seemed good quality. One evening, we had drinks at the bar, and the bartenders and cooks were incredibly accommodating, allowing some of our group to order late-night food and deliver it straight to the room. What could be improved: My grievances are small. However, at this price point, I expect things like a free water bottle in the room (which appeared the second night but wasn’t there the first night), a minibar in the room with some nonalcoholic drinks, and snacks available for purchase, cleanliness in the conference room (there were some pretzels and some discarded food on the floor under the table), and doors to be opened especially when we are walking in with all of our luggage with multiple valets attendants standing near the door. Also, during our meetings, the same basic food, steak and a white fish with breading, and the exact same sides, green beans and potatoes, were served at lunch and dinner. The potatoes were also served at breakfast. When lunch came around on day two, we opted to eat elsewhere.

I’m going to start this review with the fact that I work for a luxury boutique hotel and I do not see service like this every day. ||I arrived at the hotel with my friends on Sunday afternoon (around 1pm) and was immediately greeted by the wonderful valet (I regret not getting their names, because every single valet man was fantastic. We specifically love the blonde young man with curly hair who is going to Colorado this week, HAVE FUN)! ||After handing over the keys, we walked in and were greeted by Mikayla, the wonderful front desk agent, who informed us the room was not ready yet. That was no problem at all, they kindly held our luggage, gave us a glass of champagne, and kindly recommended fun activities to do in the meantime. In comes Eric, the property’s Sommelier; he greeted us warmly while setting up for their in-house wine class. He told us he had some spots open and would love for us to join him, which we decided to do. In the meantime, we headed up to Eleve (the property’s rooftop bar and restaurant) for a French 75 to commemorate our first time in Charleston. Our server, G, was so darling. He took our order quickly and had us out in time for the 2 pm wine class. Downstairs at a long, family style table, Eric explained to us the difference between 4 red wines and guided us in creating our own custom blend, which he then bottled and labeled with our chosen picture that we emailed to him ahead of time. So worth the money and a great bonding experience with friends. Eric was an absolute pro; knowledgeable, funny, personable, and patient. I’d also love to note that our room was ready halfway through the class and we received a text from Mikayla who had the keys waiting for us and our luggage brought to the room! ||After a long day of exploring, we ended back up at Eleve, where we had another delicious cocktail and chocolate cake. Our server, Ava, was a doll. She was quick, kind, and very personable (a theme between all the staff). Best way to end our night! ||Day 2, we had a fantastic breakfast in Maison Cafe (their breakfast restaurant) and had the perfect start to another day of exploring. Later that night we ended back up in Eleve (what a shock) and had the pleasure of meeting Nina (“Cash”), their fantastic food and beverage manager, who checked on us personally multiple times. She had nothing to worry about though, because we were in the hands of the incomparable Allen. He was our bubbly, sweet server for the night. He greeted us with the warmest smile and explained the menu and Happy Hour thoroughly. We were thrilled to see Ava and G again, lovely as ever. The Kessler Marg, fried calamari, and oysters were the perfect night cap. ||I know this review is long enough as is, but I just want to sincerely thank everyone for the phenomenal service from start to finish. I loved our short trip to Charleston, even though i’ve never sweat so much in my life, I will...

I have to first say that the over all look of the hotel is beautiful and location of the Hotel is perfect given the distance from great restaurants and amenities of Charleston. Unfortunately my over all experience at this particular hotel was bad and put a damper on us ever staying there again or at another Marriott autograph collection hotel. I booked this hotel given it was my one year wedding anniversary and they had a package that included champagne, breakfast in bed, rose petal turn down service and credit at the restaurant on site included with your stay. When I first arrived and asked them about the champagne they showed to have no clue about it or the package and told me they would look into it. So we went up to our room and after a hour or so I went down to check on this and the lady working the front desk stated they would alert the restaurant and have the champagne delivered at 7pm and confirmed the time twice. 7pm arrived and I gave them a 15 min grace period but I received no champagne or even a phone call stating it would be late so my wife in which this was suppose to be a surprise for called down to check on it and the restaurant said it would be right up. The manager downstairs called us back 5 mins later asking if it was delivered which showed that there wasn't any communication between the restaurant or the front desk. The next morning we were expecting to receive our breakfast in bed given we hung up our selection on the door and it was picked up that night. When our selected time of 9am arrived there was no sign or call from anyone so this time I gave them a 30min grace period until I called given there dysfunction . When I first called they stated they didn't receive the ticket and informed me they could take my order over the phone but by then we had decided it wasn't worth the wait and informed him we would call them back if we changed our mind. They then called back and informed me they found the ticket but they didn't first get it because it was in the trash!! I understand this may have been the truth but it only made the situation that more displeasing and disappointing. Having this experienced has truly ruined my respect for the Marriott autograph collections given my exceptions that were let down a this hotel and make me really reconsider booking at...

Filthy, disgusting hotel. When we arrived, the first thing I did was pull out the corners of the bedsheets (it's neurotic, but I like to do a bed bug check!)

When I pulled out the corner sheets, a pair of soiled underwear fell out of the bed. We brought this to the attention of the management, and the offered a credit at the hotel bar and sent a wine and cheese plate, promising to follow up with the custodial manager.

As our stay went on, I noticed more and more things that did not seem clean -- there was what appeared to be a large puddle of dried urine in front of the toilet, and there were long brown hairs near the sink and on the (clean?) towels. I called in the morning and asked that the cleaning folks address this when they touched up the room.

When we arrived at 3 PM, the cleaning staff had not come. I called again to let them know we were going out, and to remind them that there were some issues with cleanliness that they had said would be addressed. When we came back to the room at 8:30 PM, I was astounded to find that nothing had been touched -- the cleaning staff had not come at all.

I called the front desk to share my thoughts about having to call three times over the course of 12 hours to get housekeeping service at an Autograph Collection hotel, and the front desk said they would send someone right away and speak with the housecleaning management (hahaha , you need to come up with some new material, though!) They did worry that "no one may be on duty at this hour." (!!!)

When we arrived back at the hotel at the end of the night, the bed had been made, but all of the other issues -- including the hair and the dried toilet puddle, which by this point, I had just covered with a bath mat so I would not need to step in it -- was exactly the same as we left it.

We raised this with the management on our way out; she was apologetic and said she would "discuss it with the housekeeping supervisor." That and a quarter, you know?

Based on this experience, I would not stay at another Grand Bohemian, even though the decor was cool and the staff was friendly, if ineffectual. I would strongly suggest you to consider another hotel in Charleston until they can resolve these issues with...
