I absolutely love Moissanite and have done quite a lot of research on it. Before our viewing with EW Gem I initially went to check out Charles and Covard moissanite rings at Helzberg Diamond's up in Greenville. I originally was considering going with them because Charles and Covard owned the original patent for moissanite up until 2015. I had really high expectations with them because they have been making moissanite for 25 years. After seeing Charles and Covard in person I was very disappointed with their moissanite stones. They almost looked see-through and glass like, similar to costume jewelry. (sorry but I forgot to take photos at Helzberg, I recommend you go see yourself though 😬) I actually felt pretty nervous about the showing for East West Gem Co because of my prior experience with Charles n Covard. But I am SO glad we made that appointment though. Their stones are way more beautiful in person than in their pictures. I am absolutely blown away with the quality of their jewelry. I always stop by jewerly counters literally everywhere I go and this is hands down some of the most gorgeous stones I have ever laid my eyes on. ✨️ I would definitely recommend buying from them even if you can't do an in-person showing. Their pictures perfectly reflect the fire of their stones unlike the many other companies I've seen online. I looked at every stone on their website for weeks before our showing and they were just as beautiful and even more gorgeous in person. I would completely trust repurchasing from them even without a in-person showing. They told me you can even do a zoom viewing as well if need be. I also want to mention their price piont. I have found many other moissanite sellers with somewhat lower prices online. There are many on Esty for example but if you reverse image search those pictures they are being sold by dozens of other companies with the exact same picture, its very sketchy. Also you could be getting a stone that looks glass like, see through just like the Charles and Covard stones and not know it. Yes it could be moissanite but it could be cut terribly leaving it with tons of dead spots. By not buying a diamond you are already saving a lot, but that doesn't mean you want lower quality. With EW Gem you will definitely be getting a gorgeous stone along with a gorgeous setting. I can confidently say buying from East West Gem Co. would be a great choice for an engagement ring. Today my partner and I had a showing with Kathryn at the Charleston location. It was long awaited after following East West for years and dreaming of the day we could visit one of their showrooms. We booked our reservation about 2-3 weeks in advanced for a 45 minute showing. The scheduling of the reservation was very easy and user friendly and the reminders were extremely helpful and convenient. Make sure you do confirm the reservation a few days before via email, all the instructions are included in the correspondence they send out. Also with the detailed instructions provided, the location was extremely easy to find and there was parking close by which is a plus!

When we arrived we were greeted by a very sweet young lady who offered us to take a seat in an adorable lounge area. Kathryn came out and introduced herself and we immediately felt comfortable and in good hands within the first exchange of words. She ushered us back to a gorgeous private showroom were she dove right into our consultation. Luckily I had an idea of the style I preferred because there were endless options! While narrowing down some options, Kathryn was so knowledgeable and informative. She answered every question before I could even ask from the materials to the production. We were truly so comfortable and they whole experience was so enjoyable.

Kathryn ended up quoting us on 4 rings and was super thorough about every detail (cut, color, carat weight, band width, prongs, upgrade options.) She even attached reference photos so not a single detail was missed. It truly was a custom experience! Not once did we even feel rushed or like we were just another consultation, Kathryn sincerely took her time and even gave us some great recommendations for lunch, which were absolutely delicious!

I’ve waited years for this day and it definitely exceeded any expectation I had and what made the experience so magical was Kathryn’s genuine love and passion for what she does for us lucky ladies and gentlemen who get to own one of these magnificent pieces! Our appointment with Alexa last week was perfect! Instructions we received in the days prior to the appointment to find the showroom were accurate and easy to follow. Alex greeted us at the door to the showroom and guided us into one of the rooms where our appointment was held. She was very hospitable and came prepared with all the information that I had submitted prior to the appointment stating my original ideas for what I wanted my ring to look like. Alexa was bubbly, sweet, and made us both feel very comfortable in expressing our ideas for two different styles of rings, which she priced out in full and provided us with an email of all specifications after the appointment. She was excellent in asking about my preferences in how I want my ring to look and was great about illustrating different modifications that could be made to the physical rings that were available to try on. She also let me try on loose stones in temporary holders and on the bands of existing rings of the styles I liked that were available in the showroom. She did not feel at all pushy and she did not rush us at all, which I imagine must be difficult for consultants to do considering appointment times are limited to only 45 minutes. At the end of the appointment she squeezed in my request to try on a couple wedding bands and then even gave us recommendations for some restaurants in the area to visit since we were in from out of town. Alexa gave us the time to ponder over the decision and did not hound us to make any sort of a decision prematurely.
