My stay was less than desireable. We come here every year for Valentine’s Day and celebrate at the Palm which is walking distance away. You have to valet park your car since there’s barely any parking space at Phillips place. The bed is the best part of the hotel, not being sarcastic. Like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast bar was convenient, staff was friendly and made sure to say hey. However, there was a new valet driver that was training that weekend and was unable to find our car on two separate occasions which made us late for our dinner reservations and was overall stressful. Luckily the shuttled driver helped him out and finally found the car. The following days as we’re about to check out, we’re packing up the car and notice two white DEEP scratches stretching across the span of the rear passenger door, on my all black Cadillac. There is no valet in the morning on Sunday, so no one to ask any questions too. I spoke with a woman by the name of Laura and am still waiting to hear back from her. Hotel is nice but I’d either park your car yourself (if you’re lucky) or try your luck at some of the nicer hotels right up the road. Not much of a relaxing getaway when the car repairs costs more...
Read moreI’m writing this review to express deep concern over a troubling experience my mother had at this hotel on the morning of August 15th. As a Black woman with over 30 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, she knows how a hotel should be run, and this experience was both disappointing and deeply disheartening.
She was met with clear favoritism and what appeared to be racially biased treatment by two staff members: Tasha and Mike. While she was denied the simple courtesy of viewing a room, which was already booked in advance, a standard and reasonable request, she witnessed both staff members joyfully and attentively serving white guests in the lobby without hesitation. It was as if her presence was seen as a nuisance or intrusion.
This kind of discriminatory behavior is not just unprofessional, it is unacceptable. No guest should ever feel unwelcome, especially when simply trying to conduct business respectfully and calmly. We hope this hotel will take action to address this behavior and reinforce proper training in customer service, hospitality standards, and racial equity. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, regardless of...

They were very spacious (more so than many rooms I have ever stayed at). Likewise the bathroom was a good size. The bathroom had a very large tub in it and a television in the mirror itself. Likewise it has the mini fridge and microwave.
Likewise, the hotel is in a pretty awesome location. There are a whole bunch of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. In addition, there is a mall within 5 minutes of the hotel itself.
There are a ton of restaurants in the immediate area and it was only about a 10-15 minute drive from Uptown Charlotte (the downtown area; don't ask me why it's called that).
My one and only complaint is the parking here can suck at times. There was one night we got back around 7 pm or so and we spent nearly an hour looking for parking. Since there is no distinction between hotel parking and the shops and restaurants, it can cause parking to fill up (even the valet parking was full). That was a little...
