During my last visit, the lab technician did not even aware urine sample taking steps. She handwrote my DOB and my Name wrong. I am not sure how accurate my results were. This review only for the lab experience. Otherwise my overall rating is 4 stars
Edit: 31 March 2024, Sunday
As I suggested by my doctor, I had a follow up visit on 27 March 2024, Wednesday. He asked me to repeat my urine test, which I did during my previous visit.
This time the lab technician asked me to write my name and DOB on my own. Since I was sick, I was not able to write them properly on the container, where the label was so tiny, and the pen she gave was not writing properly. I used 3 or 4 fresh containers to make sure I wrote it clearly. Instead, had she agreed to print one additional label, those 4 wasted containers could have been saved.
I agree that printing one additional label will incur additional cost, but it wouldn't be equal to the cost of those 4 wasted containers. It's not just about the cost, it's about patients' confidence about the accuracy of lab results and health care they get based on the results. I have been to other labs in Charlotte. This is the only place where lab technicians ask the patients do write their details, and strongly deny patients requests.
Really I was amazed by the process improvement they have brought between these two visits in a weeks timeframe. I am wondering are they really are they serious about giving accurate lab results or it's a fun for them. We spoke to a different person about this issue. Really I don't have any confidence about anything that will change quickly unless anything seriously happens. I think It's my time to change my family medicine practice, unless I hear back from them as they...
Read moreI did a video visit with Carrie Chin, DNP. She talked with me explaining what I needed to do it took me a day or 2 to go to the Novant ED. The last time I got help from the Atrium ED I was admitted. The experience was less than pleasant. When I told them I wanted to leave AMA 2 burly guards & 2 nurses told me I wasn’t allowed to leave. The crew promptly put me in 4 point restraints on me had shot me up with Haldol. I remained “tied down”for 2 weeks with a sitter watching me. This has turned me off from wanting any service from Atrium. I even call 911 until my phone was taken away from me with the 911 operator said that they heard about me & I should just cooperate with the staff. I told the operator that I was being held against my will. If they didn’t let me go I would sue the hospital. My emergency contact, my daughter would not come to my aid. I was really devastated. Fortunately Ms Carrie’s pleasant and caring attitude softened the blow. Since this incident I ended up in Atrium again. So this last time I required help at the Novant ED where I was treated with respect and kindness. Atrium could learn some valuable patient care not only medically speaking but with HUMANITY. IF Atrium continues to hire providers such as Ms Carrie you will probably get better patient care positive reviews. In the meantime I will not go to your Atrium ED IF I have a choice. Providers like Dr Stadiem, Ms Carrie, Dr Carly Russo, Dr Green and Ms Strand, NP (in urology) are all top notch; they give excellent quality care. I wish Atrium the best with these few providers that...
Read moreI have begun seeing Dr Steinman for my condition. He is a really nice guy and knows how to help me. He and his staff dug through about 25 years of records to find information to prevent me having needle biopsies. I have also seen his PA Katie. She is really nice and very smart. She helped me to update my medications and sensors.
This is an update: I have been seeing most of the Doctors at this facility since it was Charlotte Medical Clinic. In the last 4 to 5 years the doctors have been great with their care for me. However the doctor’s support staff has really gone down hill. I do not know if they are over whelmed or the quality of the people they hire is the best they can get. I have had difficulty getting a referral to other doctors which I never got after being told it was sent, difficulty getting a refill prescription to my pharmacy after telling me there was a computer glitch the when they received it it had missing or incorrect information. Had to call the back after pharmacy could not get them to correct the prescription. When I say something to the doctors the say they have no control over their performance. Also requested a prescription to my pharmacy to get Libre Sensors. The pharmacy said they needed addition information which the never got. Discussed with my doctor and he cut me off because he wanted to concentrate on my condition. I hope they can find better staff or train the...
