I booked this hotel for February 17-24.I’m traveling from Ohio to Chicago for My brother funeral.my experience was so awful Once I arrive for Check-in at 4:05 PM on the 17th I spoke with the front desk manager which name is Drew.I gave him my identification as he’s looking for my reservation I noticed $700 amount come on the card reader as I’m standing there Drew tells me he doesn’t have a reservation under the information that I provided but he do have a reservation for a person with the same name as me he began to tell me that the person information doesn’t match my information so this cannot be my reservation The only thing match is the name not my address, email address confirmation number nor the last four digits I used to purchase my reservation so at this point I’m so confused so I asked the manager named Drew. When did the person book the room he confirm on the sixth I asked when will they check-in/out date which it was the same as mine but insisted this cannot be myreservation because none of the information match when I booked through Priceline book the other person booked through the hotel at this point I’m wondering where did my money go?now I have nowhere to stay I will have to sleep in my car until the next day of the funeral drew tell me that I need to call Priceline it’s nothing he can do even if he let me check in it will be a $700 deposit I states to Drew why would it be 700 in my itinerary says it’s $100 deposit for damages and any incidentals he say it is $700 because it’s $100 a night that’s not what my itinerary sayI am so stressed I’m tired and I’m ready to check in and go to sleep, then he tell me he can’t do the transaction because I want him to split payment I have the funds on 5 different credit cards but not a full 700 on one card 450 in cash he send me to the atm to put the cash on my card like he was going to accept my payments once returning he states again he can’t do it I have to make another reservation that could cover the deposit I asked why would I do that when Ialready paid for my room the issue is the deposit and clearly I showed himmyitinerarywhereit states $100 and from my knowledge it is on the hotel discretion that he could’ve did a split payment.I was still in the hotel lobby till 1030pm frustrated and have to attend my brother funeral I’m crying confused cold tired with nowhere to lay my head.I’m still asking how can I resolve this issue?Priceline speak with the manager which he tell them he do have a reservation for a person with my name not clarifying it’s not for the person hereI have proof and bank statements that I had funds on all different cards plus cash clearly it’s not about the funds it’s about you using your discretion on how the funds can be distribute yet have left a young woman in the cold with nowhere to stay so I had to sleep in my car get up super early to go get ready at a funeral home to attend my brother funeral. This was the worst experience in my life other than losing my brother I ask for help from 4:05 to 1030 at night no one could help me or get this matter resolved I am very disgusted with the service the lack of help and the confusion on both parties priceline sucks Hampton magnificent Mile sucks and with all of this they have not refunded my money I did not get to stay in my room at all both parties are still refusing to return my money that I paid for my room and didn’t get a chance to stay. I asked for them to cancel the reservation this person sit there and told me he cannot cancel the reservation because the person may come in at this point it’s 10 o’clock at night I’m the only Ke’ona Smith,I went into details of the way my name is spelled.after12 o’clock it’s a no-show can you cancel the reservations then he said no I understand it is rules and procedures but with human decency someone please help me February17,2025 today is March21,2025 I still don’t have this matter resolved.please be careful booking with this hotel and Priceline I know my itinerary stated $100 not $100 a night or stay I’m still looking for answers to...
Read moreI was impressed with the service from the moment my hubby and I walked into the hotel! I was greeted by Yolo who checked me in. She was also training Grant at the same time as she was checking me in and she didn’t miss a beat! She was friendly and professional, personable and patient. I so enjoyed her personality and her ability to multi-task without wasting a second! The tips that she gave me for check-in were definitely needed AND, I checked in early (whoop whoop)! I was expecting to let them know I was there and to wait in the lobby for 45 minutes, but to my surprise, I was given my room keys! AYE!!!
The next morning for breakfast was like, "WOW"! When I say top notch!!!! I have stayed at other HIAS and this is by far the best of all of them! Breakfast was more like a Breakfast Reception! The food was great of course, but the details were amazing- almonds, raisins, brown sugar etc., for the oatmeal, whipped cream and sprinkles for the waffles, BOILED EGGS (because I need protein on top of protein for this weight-training and cardio huney), trays and drink lids for the trip back to your room, beautiful eating area, large, double dining rooms... And on, and on, and on! Pam was one of the workers for breakfast and when I tell YOU, she was on it! Weaving and smiling through all of the guests to replace items, giving friendly greetings and suggestions on where to find things or how to make things easier while getting things together. One of our days there, she was not working and when I tell you there was a difference! She was THE BEST! I mean, who is this happy at work? Pam IS!
Parking was the best it could be considering it was downtown- $75 for valet and $60 for overnight parking using a garage a couple of blocks away, but that was to be expected. For all of you in the Dodge family, just an FYI, valet does not valet them! My hubs and I have a Dodge Durango RT with them PIPES baby, so if you are riding like we are, don't say I didn't warn you. We should have driven our nice, lowkey, BMW because they valet those (chile...) Anyway, the valet attendants were so nice even though we couldn’t valet the truck. One attendant helped us take pics, the other helped us find our way to the parking garage, another went and found us a big luggage cart to bring our TV in on (yes we had 2 TVs in the suite and we had to bring our spare 42 in FROM HOME because my hubby is a PS5 gamer in his spare time, sigh...) Just a whole lot of kindness and helpfulness going on up in this place!
On a good note, parking a block away allowed us to take different routes to the parking lot to check out the scene so that worked out in our favor. At this location you are less than a mile away from anything! Shopping, excursions, food, and the sights. Our first night here, we walked to the parking lot to get something out of the truck, to Garrett's to get some popcorn, to Giordano's for pizza (that pizza was delish, but ya’ll sleeping on that Ceaser salad- OMG), and back to the hotel, all while I was in my heels (Yes, I'm THAT chick)! Gotta keep it cute, even in the cold and wind. Yep!
We opted to have our checkout early because we had a compromised card situation and Charlene checked us out. She was very understanding of our situation and THE ABSOLUTE SWEETEST!!! Hilton, you have hired some absolute superstars at this location; I’m talking Jordan, Pippen and Rodman type superstars! Somebody needs to call me so that I can brag on each and every one of them some more because they deserve a huge shout-out, some recognition, a gold star- ALL THAT! Because of them, this is my favorite Hilton hotel ever! The employees were the best, breakfast food was good, gym was updated and open all night, suite was spacious and clean and housekeeping was on point. We called our room, "The apartment" because it was so large! Tee hee! There were other amenities that I didn't even get a chance to take advantage of so when I tell you they covered everything that you even think you will need, that's what I mean! Our entire was a...
Read moreGood location if you want to focus on the Mag Mile. Clean rooms. Okay view of Chicago from our room on the 32nd floor. The bathroom was notably dated, but no big deal. Not luxurious but got the job done. Bed was comfortable. Our room was by the elevator, which we could hear screeching up and down. Expect long elevator wait times during the complimentary breakfast hours as everyone travels to and from the mezzanine level; one man said he had been waiting 15 minutes. We also had housekeeping knock on our door the morning of check-out and ask what time we were checking out. Um, by check-out time? It’s nothing, but I’ve never been asked by hotel staff what time I plan to check out. Odd. Here are my two main gripes:
I booked this hotel over another because of the rooftop pool, and the pool was closed for renovations during our stay. There was no indication that this would be the case, and I regretted not going with the other option. There were other, slightly nicer hotels in the same price range that didn’t have a pool. I would have chosen one of those if I had known that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the view anyway. I felt like I didn’t quite get what I paid for.
This hotel charges a $100 per night security deposit that doesn’t refund until 7-10 days after checkout if you use a debit card. The delay is a little long, and $100 seems high for a room that was only $170. Check-in was at 4:00, and we stopped by around 12:00 to drop off our bags. They told us that our room was ready, but they would charge a $50 early check-in fee. No thanks. Not the most amenable hotel in the world, but you get the treatment you pay for.
EDIT: I checked out of this hotel 17 days ago, and my security deposit/incidental hold has not been returned to my account. I emailed the hotel with no response after two days, so I called them, and I was given somewhat confusing information: that the hold takes 10 business days (also described as "14 days") to be released, but also that it takes 30 days for them to investigate where the money went if it doesn't return to one's account. I had to contact my bank. The hold is $100 per night, so be aware that if you have a longer stay, you may have several hundred dollars missing from your account indefinitely (if you have one, obviously use a credit card. I don't use a credit card,...
