Read moreWe went to this restaurant because our hotel recommended it. We went together with our friends from Japan, hoping to have a good time. We did expect that the Italian restaurant would be more expensive, but we did not expect to be robbed. You can see the bill attached for three people. We had our son, eight years old, with us. The servant advertised specials for that night, and most of us decided to order specials. My husband ordered risotto with shrimp, I ordered Brazino, and our son Zuppa di Pesci (linguini with seafood such as calamari, shrimp, some pieces of fish, and a tiny octopus). The original recipe for fish soup does not contain pasta. You can see the price for that food and compare it with their menu prices. Yes, the specials are usually slightly more expansive, but not that much. The fish (Brazino) was half, with four shrimp and spinach, and the risotto was okay, but both plates were overpriced. The biggest disappointment was our son's food. He asked for seafood. I spherically asked the servant if this food was spicy for a child. He said it is good. It was so spicy that he could not eat the linguini floating in the spicy tomato sauce. It was not Zuppa di Pesci (Fish soup); it was a few seafood pieces and tons of cheap pasta. It was spicy and tasteless; linguini was probably purchased in the store for $3, low quality, and not what one would expect from a respectful Italian restaurant. And this dish was $64. On top they have 3% surcharge for general food price increase. When I asked the servant why he did not tell us that this food was very spicy, knowing it was for a child, he answered, "We do not have a kids' menu." But we specifically asked whether it was spicy or not. Our Japanese friend was with his two sons and was disappointed (he ordered that fish soup). He left a 10% tip, and the servant was mad and disrespectful to him at the end, asking him why he left such a small tip. It was a horrible experience and ruined our evening. I would not...
Read moreWe were looking for a real authentic Italian experience and to be honest, the food is exactly that. Great wine list, very large Caesar salad, wonderful Caprese salad and then when the portions came for the chicken parmesan, I saw my wife's eyes open as if she was being served a full cow. Talk about home of the Big Whopper.... the waiter really should have warned us of the size so we could have split the meal. Honestly, it felt like a cash grab but after talking to the manager after this, he assured me it wasn't and that this is the true Italian culture of serving big, but I know better because I've been in Italy many times and everything is small bites, many menu items and long service. The chicken parmesan is 11" long and 7" wide and could actually serve four people if not at the very least three. We walked the streets looking for homeless people to give the extra portions away, no kidding. We had a flight the next day and it's not like I was going to eat this for my first meal waking up the next day (like the Manager suggested). And to add to that we changed up our order a little bit to get pasta instead of potato, thought that would be easy enough but with an extra $14 charge total, we weren't at all told that. Seems like a small amount but that would be 5% of a tip for which the waiter never got. Honestly, we've never been to a restaurant in our life where we gave absolutely no tip to a waiter who should know a lot better about communicating simple things like portion sizes, charges for changing up an order and so forth, and then told my wife she was rude when she explained this matter of factly. The manager was no better, after we told the waiter this the manager simply came by and simply dropped the bill on the table after we expected at least an $11 reduction and said Arnold Schwarzenegger style 'I''ll be back' (to pick up the Visa charge).We...
