This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel/suite. Beware - The hotel churches a $50 non-refundable cleaning fee, per stay, but DID NOT CLEAN THE UNIT! I wish there was a way to upload the pictures I took! I was celebrating my 30th birthday so I had invited a few friends over and i was terrible embarrassed! The walls were filthy! The linen was NOT clean. I pulled back the comforter on one of the beds and saw hair and what appeared to be a red popcorn kernel. The sink and bathtub in the unit was extremely worn, the material was cracked and peeling, and was dirty! We did not even want to take a shower, we had to put bath towels on the floor. The sink in the kitchen had a leak! The let out sofa in the living room area was infested with pet dander and hair. From a glance, the place appeared to be clean (either exception of the white dirty walls) but it wasn’t until I got settled in and ready to relax that I noticed everything. This is a very very old place and could definitely use some renovations and remodeling. The hotel staff and management were very unresponsive. I called at least 5 times and left a message and was told that someone would give me a call back. I even emailed the email address that I was given. - That was 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from ANYONE!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!! If I could give them zero to half a...
Read moreI'm glad I didn't read the reviews here before booking this place, or I'd miss out on what was for us a gem (I guess we got really really lucky)! This building is 91 years old and a bit rough on the edges, but its history shines through. The price/location combo is truly unbeatable. A few minutes walk from my conference venue, tram stations, and the Millennium Park/Art Institute. It was much cheaper than the Airbnb prices for similar rooms in the same building. There was daily house-keeping, everything seemed clean and well-kept (though the room was on the barren side), and we enjoyed the kitchen (full sized fridge, microwave, stove, oven, plates/cups/etc). We had three TV sets in the unit and at least one of them had a Netflix subscription, even.
The manager on call (Eric) was very nice, the front desk professional (they take care of the front end of business for the entire building, not just Loop Suites, but they always radio up the manager on call if we have any questions). I stored my luggage on site for $3 per day after I checked out, but later learned that I could've stored it in the Art Institute for $1 per day (pro-tip duly noted)....
Read moreHad to wait 30 mins to be checked in. There was no one at the front desk. Room was dirty, linens werent washed and there is no room service, the heating is very very loud. There were discarded items of clothing under the furniture. There is a huge issue of communicating with the management. The people at the front desk are only told to hand out room keys. If you have an issue with the room or a question about the check in, they cant help you. Theyll ask you to text a number that no one replies to. Or send an email. So basically there is no one to help you. You pay, get to the room and then you have to deal with whatever you encounter there. The rooms are cheaper than the ones youll find at the same location but youll have to weigh in that slight decrease in cost against the poor management and the dirty accomodations. If you can bring your own sheets, towels and disinfectants, it might be okay to stay in. Otherwise its a health hazard. Location is...
