We are a family of nine. Of course, not average but it is ours. We came from out of town. It was our 6yr old daughter’s birthday, we decided on skating as one of the many things we did while in Chicago. I cannot believe how incredibly RUDE the staff at the skate rental/check in was, ESPECIALLY the females!!!!!!!!!!!! Although we made a reservation and pre paid ….I have never in my life been treated so awful, extremely disrespectful towards myself, my husband, my teens and toddlers. Not to mention, three of our children are TODDLERS, we also have one DISABLED teen…when making a reservation, the “penguin” skate assist should have been offered. We were UNABLE to PURCHASE ANY, none available!!!!! Of course that would have cost us an extra 40$/10$ per penguin…..but we would have been more than happy to pay to insure our children were safe and able to actually skate…nope!!!!!!!…..ADULTS actual adults out there on the ice with penguins but NOT our CHILDREN, Unbelievable!!!!! Our toddlers and disabled teen did NOT stay on the ice. My husband (whom was also pre paid to skate) had to stay off the ice with our belongings and not skate AT ALL due to lockers being “unavailable”/“not working”, something we should also have been aware of, who leaves NINE pairs of shoes, purses, and such just laying under benches in the city of Chicago, crazy to me!!!!!!! I would never ever ever return to this skate rink!!!! I will absolutely be calling to insist some type of refund/compensation as we did pay 198$ to enjoy something that was absolutely terrible and extremely disappointing, our birthday girl was in tears …customer service and hospitality nothing but ZEROS from us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whomever owns this park should 100% reconsider the front staff that is suppose to make you feel welcome, they are nothing even close to welcoming…..they must be the rudest and most unfriendly individuals I have ever encountered…literally!!!!!!!!!! Another FYI….being a mom of six I have NEVER taken this much time…. MY TIME to write this type of review ,but unfortunately in this situation, I feel it is an absolute MUST—very very...

I purchased tickets to go skating with friends, and noticed immediately how expensive this would be. Per person it is $25 (Skates, Locker, Fees). However, we figured everything in Chicago is overpriced, so we still decided to book.
Upon arriving staff was unhelpful. We had the first session in the morning yet lines were forming in multiple locations and staff gave no guidance on where to actually wait. Upon getting a wristband we then waited in the skate rental line, where the staff was incredibly unhelpful. We became concerned when the gentlemen in front of us received skates so wet that when tipped over water poured out. After reviving our skates and trying them on, the sizes were wrong and it took multiple times in the line to actually receive the size you asked for. Additionally you are expected to put your shoes in a locker and then walk outside on the wet pavement to a different location to put your skates on. If Perry notices you trying to change out of your shoes and put your skates on in the same location he will begin to yell.
After finally being able to begin skating, we realized how poor quality the skates were. The skates I revived had no sole, so I could feel the blade along my feet. After the first lap my feet were in pain. Although there are signs that try to prevent bystanders from leaning on the railings meant for skaters, staff does nothing to enforce this. Around the rink there are kids sitting on the railing and adults leaning over, making these railings useless to the actual skaters. After just 2 laps my party decided to leave as we did not want to have significant foot pain for a the rest of our trip.
Upon exiting the rink the signs show that skate return is in the same location as skate rental however when we followed the signs, Perry again did not like this. With no guidance besides Perry’s yelling we left our skates where the sign said.
We left extremely disappointed by the experience, and feeling like we wasted $75. I know there is another rink in Chicago so maybe give that one a try? This one is...
Read moreThe rink was amazing. Only downside is the employees. I came in on December 9th, at around 3pm and the workers were just awful. So very rude and sassy. I went to pay for my skates and put my money on the table in front of her and she didn’t take it. I saw there was a sticky not that said to hand the cash to them, so I did and I also apologized for not seeing it (keep in mind it was a small sticky note by her side). Than one of the other coworkers said, yeah it’s just rude and annoying in a harsh tone. I get that it may be annoying but being rude and ignoring customers over it is just very unprofessional. They get paid to do this, and I pay to have a good time and honestly the behavior of the employees running the rental skate stand was just sad. Honestly the rudest group of workers I have ever dealt with and they made me feel very unwanted. I than got my skates and went to put them on and one was all knotted up beyond fixing so I went to take them up front and they all knew I was there (since I made eye contact with multiple employees), but just stared at me annoying and blatantly ignored me and continued to play on their phone until I had to ask for new skates. I went skating and it was great. The workers on the ice that covered the holes were friendly. When I finished I went through the other door just to return my skates and they yelled at me and kicked me out and made me walk all around the place to get in, all because I took a different door, yet they don’t notice me when I’m waiting at the skate rental booth. Very...
