Childress Inn — Hotel in Childress

I have never written a negative review before, however, with how course the woman running the hotel was when asking for assistance with problems I felt obligated. ||||When checking in the woman was friendly and nice. It is not as advertised though, as for the claims from their website; 1. “Newly remodeled rooms with Electronic locks and new carpet” The room I stayed in was dirty and dated, paint was off the walls in large areas, the microwave did not work, there was no stopper in the tub and when I tried to take a shower; allowing time for the water to heat, I had to leave it on the highest setting and it never got very hot and the pressure was low. The phone cord would not stay in the phone as the adapter was broke and they never attempted to fix it when I explained the phone would not work. The electronic locks did not work and the woman was irritated and condescending when I had to repeatedly ask for help because the lock was not working. When her son came to help the next day he had to take the door lock apart because the batteries were going bad. He is a very nice young man. 2. “Complimentary High Speed Internet access” It constantly dropped connections and at times would not connect at all; you could watch the signal bounce from 1 to 5 bars. When this occurred I had to sit on the sidewalk in front of my room, facing the office, to connect which was not convenient with the weather, we were under an advisory for flooding and it was raining allot. 3. “Cable TV with HBO - Flat screen TV (Based on availability)” The channel advertized as HBO never had a signal and with the response I received when asking about the phone, internet and electronic door locks, I did not even ask about this or other problems.|| ||I would not stay or recommend this establishment. I can say a 3.5 is a perfect score for this motel, it’s definitely not particularly nice but it could be worse. The AC/heat unit in each room can be loud and move the curtains but the room I booked was clean at least… or clean enough. For 50$ a night in Childress you can’t expect it to be nice/have the commodities you expect from a nicer chain.

I just needed a room so I could do what most people who sleep in Childress do…. Leave as soon as possible. I was able to get in at 1 AM, sleep a few hours and get ln out for the rest of my journey. So my criteria is did all the features work (bathroom get hot/cold water, lights turn on/door properly lock), was it clean and did I get bed bugs.

I have no doubt that the sheets were washed but there were questionable yellow stains on the bottom bed sheet, I slept on the bed and woke up with no bed bugs bites or feeing dirty. I legit think the sheets were washed but the machine just didn’t get the stains out. I woke up in the morning and the bed was comfortable enough, slept easy since I was so tired and it’s definitely better than a cheap camping set up or sleeping in your car!

The toilet worked fine and I took a shower and the water pressure and hot water worked fine. My car was still there in the morning and I left

For 50 Bucks I can’t complain much, the yellow stain on the bottom sheet was problematic but I just was too tired to care and I truly believe the sheets were cleaned but the machine couldn’t get the stains out of the white sheet. If it wasn’t for that sheet I’d give it a 5, but I slept well, the bathroom worked fine and everything...
