SureStay by Best Western Childress — Hotel in Childress

The lady who checked us in was super nice. However, even though they were remodeling, there were a few things that could have been better with the room before checking it out to someone. The floor wasn't mopped thoroughly, the wall behind the TV should've been wiped down, along with the faucet & vanity. The shower head should be debris free & the walls of the shower should be water spot free. I have been a housekeeper before & know some tips for upkeeping those. There was also a hole in the ceiling. I'm assuming where the smoke detector should be since there was not one in the room. The door had a black hand print on it, along with a huge gap on the bottom, if it had rained the water would be in our room. The dead bolt did not work as well. There was some kind of spillage on the chair by the desk. The shower had a pvc pipe for the handle bar & the bed sheets did not fully fit. Even though the website & my hotel app said there was a pool, there was not. They said it was closed & and being used for storage. The picture of the faucet was before i had cleaned it myself. Overall, not a bad stay, but in the future, before renting out a room, y'all might want to thoroughly...

Friendly service upon checking in from Yesenia. Rooms are not bad. Good beds. Clean and well lit room. Pleasantly surprised by the great rain showerhead. Excellent water pressure for an invigorating shower.

Noise from the road was loud since there's no doorjamb insulation or weatherstrip, leaving gaps for light, noise, and cold or heat to enter room. Slow drains. Breakfast was mainly carbs. Fruit needed to be restocked. When we arrived at 7:15 for breakfast, trash was full, and the two apples that were left were bruised/rotten. Good waffle iron and coffee maker and juice dispensers. There were bagels, bread for toast, packaged blueberry muffins, yogurt, cream cheese, cereal, and packets of oatmeal (no hot water nor microwave to heat up though). There really should be someone at the desk instead of in an office with a dark two way mirror though. We arrived at 10:30pm lastnight. The gal working the desk was loud and talked about personal issues to a gentleman before me as well as badmouthing the maids for not doing there job due to a customer called to complain there was FOOD in the fridge from previous occupants. You can tell the gentleman before me was very tired and just wanted his room. She gave me my keys to the room. I was in room 216 top floor..keys did not work 😡 I had ALL bags plus my dog on a leash. I had to walk back to the office to let her know my keys did not work! She re programmed the keys plus gave me a 3rd key and told me if it still did not work I would need to go back dowstairs to the office 😡. Suprise suprise..all 3 keys still did not work! I called and made her come upstairs to let me in! I was not going to leave my stuff unattended to walk clear over to the office. I have stayed here before several times without issues!
