Econo Lodge Childress — Hotel in Childress

When I arrive Did let ft desk person know something was wrong with phone system as I tried to call and it would not go through several times something about robo calls or sellers then push button 1 if you want ft desk I tried both ways even tried 0 still did not work. I Even tried right there in front of gentleman to show what it did and he really did not care! Also after booking my stay on ChoiceHotels.com a few days before my stay I got a notice letting me know my stay was coming up. But funny thing it showed it was Modified! I never changed anything. I did not think much about it as it had the correct dollar amount on the receipt. But a few days later I never received any points on my Choice account. Had to call the rewards and get it fixed. Very odd things going on at this Econo Lodge in Childress TX. First the phone and there modification to my booking. Also Ft Desk person needs to learn better people skills. As first impressions starts the road for a lifetime guests. As there are lots of Choices. Room was very clean. But the experience destroyed my stay there and even more by the response of the owner. As I tried right there in the lobby with the same phone and it wouldn't go thru did let Choice Hotels know about this along with the booking. They did take care of the points. Still think it was hotel that caused problems. Hopefully they will investigate this...

I booked this room on behalf of our company for an employee who was starting training. It was booked over the phone with Debbie on Thursday, 7/2/25, and from my understanding, there would be no issues checking in. On check-in day Sunday, 7/6/25, our employee was not able to check in. I was on the phone and asked to speak with a manager. The night clerk started speaking in a different language to someone, and when I asked her to speak in English I was ignored. She told me there was no manager available. I offered to wait, and she said again that there was not one available. I had to book a room at a different hotel at 10:30 at night. I had this room booked...

I stayed 3 nights at Econo Lodge in Childress, TX and was seriously impressed. I usually go with Hampton or Holiday Inn, but this time Econo Lodge exceeded expectations. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and quiet, and the service was excellent. Great for both solo travelers and families—really solid value for the price. They’ve definitely stepped up their game, and I’ll be back next time...
