Best Western Childress West Hotel — Hotel in Childress

The 2d shift lady working the check in counter was very attentive and cleaning the lobby and halls and very nice. My family of 4 and I checked in at 2115 on 28 July 2024 after a full day of driving and my daughter was feeling carsick. We rented a King bed and a couch pullout suite in room 202. I came down to the pool for a bit before it closed went up and took a shower. There were only 2 towels and two was cloths and no extra pillows and covers for the couch pull out. My son and I came down to the lobby and hung out talking. After third shift lady Christina came on board and was on her phone for a while I asked her for 4 towels, 4 wash cloths 2 extra pillows and covers for the couch pull out.

Christina was kind enough to break away from her phone to hand us some the wash cloths and towels, but kindly informed us there was extra bedding and pillows for the pull out couch in every room. “House keeping puts it in every room.” I politely and with a smile informed her there were no extra pillows or covers for me and my son. I asked her if there was an unused room she can check for extras and she said no without looking or checking obviously more interested in getting back to her phone.

It is now 0130 and I am frustrated with the lack of professionalism from Christina and her unwillingness to help a paying customer. There is no way that there is not bedding or pillows that can be tracked down for my son and I. So I get my son up to the couch with no covers or pillows and come back down to the lobby as I currently write this review.

Jamika (Hotel Manager), I am told you will be in on 29 July 2024 in the afternoon. Please contact me so we can discuss. The hotel had no TV service. The hot tub was out of service and my son could not properly and or comfortably sleep with no pillows or covers. I might be able to sleep in the lobby after writing this review. This is extremely unacceptable and unprofessional after paying $145 to sleep in a hotel for one night.

Christina has since moved from watching Ching her phone at a table to being behind the check in counter listening to music and singing since she realized I posted this review.

My wife used the gym to work out but treadmill did not work. I had to use the public mens restroom on the 1st floor and the lock did not work. I had someone walk in on me while I used the commode. The breakfast was at least good for taste and area kept clean.

This is a horrible hotel who clearly does not understand the meaning of the word cleanliness. Was placed in a handicapped room and did not ask for one. Walked into a bathroom with water standing in the shower bathroom and all over the floor with a shower leaking. ||||Asked for another room for my mom and I was told there were no other rooms yet Hotels.com showed there were 3 left. Maintenance came and said they would have to replace the shower head but could not do it that night.||||it was clear the room had not been cleaned as there was hair behind the commode and there were dead bugs in the room. They came and half ass cleaned the room if you call wiping a floor with towels clean. ||||Then the maintenance guy started blaming the receptionist and playing the he said-she said game. ||||This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in regarding cleanliness. There were no rooms available in Childress so I had to stay the night.||||It's clear the manager and staff don't care about cleanliness||||RUN, don't walk from reserving a room...

If you like BUGS and filth, this hotel is for you. I couldn't believe the great reviews of this hotel compared to how dirty our room was. Bathroom floor...dirty, headboard... dirty, microwave.....dirty, walls...dirty, night stand and lamp base....dirty. Well you can see from pics. What was clean would be a shorter list. I took a tissue out of the tissue holder to start cleaning a room that should have already been clean, only to find that one tissue was just stuffed into the top of the empty box. After cleaning the night stand, light switches, etc., we settled into bed, only to have a pinching bettle climb into bed with us. My husband got it off our bed and killed it. We turned off the light and minutes later he felt ANOTHER bug crawling on him. Disgusting! Of course it was hard to sleep knowing a creepy bug could crawl across you at any moment during the night.
