We stayed at this Hampton from December 29, 2023 to January 1st, 2024. While the location was convenient and some aspects of the service were commendable, there were several areas that left much to be desired.

Firstly, the pictures posted along with this review show a less-than-ideal picture of the room's cleanliness, particularly in the bathroom, shower, and with the phone. It's evident that the upkeep of the facility needs attention to ensure a more pleasant stay for guests. There was more than what's shown, trust me.

Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the pool, breakfast, or other amenities as we did not utilize them. However, I must mention that the Wi-Fi was disappointingly slow, prompting me to resort to my phone hotspot to get some work done.

On a positive note, the hotel deserves credit for allowing us a late check-out at 1:00, accommodating our schedule and providing a bit of flexibility.

One significant downside was the consistent lack of towels throughout our stay. Despite speaking with housekeeping and being informed that they were being washed and would not be available until 2:00, I want to acknowledge the efforts of a specific housekeeping staff member. A short, Hispanic gentleman went above and beyond by personally delivering towels to our room just a few minutes later saying that he found some. His dedication made it possible for us to maintain cleanliness during our extended stay, especially considering that this stay was for a hunting trip, so we used towels more than the normal guest.

One noticeable aspect was the lack of warmth from the front desk staff. Throughout our stay, we did not encounter a single smiling face from the two employees we interacted with.

Furthermore, attempts to contact the front desk from the room phone proved unfruitful. On two separate occasions, the phone rang persistently without anyone answering. Whether this was a technical issue with the phone system or a choice by the front desk staff not to answer, it created a frustrating communication barrier that hindered our ability to address concerns or seek assistance.

Lastly, the hotel's location is a plus, with easy access to Walmart and several restaurants either by walking or a...

We stayed at this hotel 7 years ago and I gave it 3 stars. We were at this same hotel Aug 10, 2024 and if I could give it less than 1 star, I would. It's hard to believe that Hilton would have this type of hotel in their portfolio. I have contacted their corporate office as well as my sister. We both reserved and paid for the rooms though the HH app. I also checked in though the app. My daughter was in room 324, side by side of our room 322. We arrived around 7 pm. Checked in at the front desk, we were given our rooms keys. A lady from the front desk attempted to enter my daughters room stating that it was unoccupied!!! Thankfully, my husband was just coming out of our room to witness this event. |The room was dirty, lack of training for the staff at the front desk, the breakfast was lacking fresh food, and to top it off, we didn't want to eat by the look of the food and old fruit. My husband grabbed a cup of coffee and it was luke warm. It was probably left over from the day before. The floors were sticky around the trash cans and in the ice machine area on the third floor. I don't know about the other floors.||The sheets were too small for the bed. Both corners pulled up during the night along with the mattress pad. The comforter is heavy with no duvet on it. So, you know it hasn't been washed by the look of the edges up at the pillows. I asked my sister and her friends that stayed across the hall in room 323 and 325. They had the same issues in their shower and sheets did the same on their beds.|My daughter had toothpaste from the previous guest still in the sink and it was dried. Every area of the this hotels needs to be reviewed and retrained.|I wished I would have looked at Google and Yelp reviews before spending my hard earned money here.|I took these photos with my phone camera. I did not enhance them in any way. What you see is what I saw in the bathroom.|Thank goodness there was a Starbucks a couple of blocks to the east. We stopped there to eat, grab coffee...

Did I stay at Government Inn & Suites?

Checked in at midnight with a carload full of my tired family (3 kids). As usual with hotel check-ins, I handed my ID & CC before it was even requested. After some time, the kids fell back asleep and so could the adults. The front desk called at 6:30 AM to tell me that she had forgotten to scan my CC for incidental charges. She woke up a very tired group by doing so.

I was annoyed by this but decided to try to get some sleep and deal with it at checkout. After breakfast and at checkout, I tried to suggest that the staff leave a note under the door next time, as it would accomplish the same thing. The staff claimed that they had every right to call me to get this information. The did not understand that I was upset with the communication method and not the reason for the call. I tried to ask that they understand the context of the situation but the front desk was even more combative that it wasn't her job. I emphasized that if the employee would have done her job at check-in, the call would not be necessary. Maybe training was necessary? The lady ended up telling me that she was sorry that I had 3 kids. At this point I had it with her and I raised my voice, told them not to call people at 6:30 in the morning without a service request. They threatened me with calling the police as I exited the front doors to get back on the road.

Needless to say, I felt like I was dealing with government employees, not the customer service desk of a normally reputable hotel. HI&S is where I have always stayed for business, and I have never been treated this way. Maybe we crossed paths on the wrong day... but it certainly wasn't a satisfactory customer experience. I won't be...

(Edit) update: hey y'all so I feel really stupid but as I was leaving the hotel I looked up to my room and I have noticed that other rooms has pull down curtains behind the see through curtains. The service was great, but the room is freaking ridiculous. I did not get any dang sleep after a 6 hour drive because they have no black out curtains it's see thru, yes I said that right see thru. There is no privacy what so ever. I'm on the third floor, and my room is facing apartments and back of walmart. The people in the apartments can see in the room no joke. I dont feel comfortable taking a shower and getting dressed in my rented room. I have to do it in the bathroom. will upload photos. The lights from outside lights up the whole room. I'm the kind of person who sleeps in total darkness, lol. So no, I did not get no damn sleep. I hope yall have a better room than I did. By the way, the room is spacious and clean. The room was the third floor king-size bed. Also, the blue curtains are just for look they do not mo

Should have known this would be a bad stay from the call to reserve the room on phone, girl on phone was impolite and rushing thru the call, girl at check in time was awesome, different girl as this one was very pleasant and accommodating and very professional, unfortunately she left as when I went to the front desk she was gone and the night girl had a unprofessional attitude as well, the room was not properly cleaned... Leftover food was in fridge, been there awhile as it smelled bad, asked her to take old food away and spray room deodorizer and it was as if I was disturbing her from sitting at the front desk, carpet was not cleaned, dead bugs on floor... Location is great and pet friendly is great but customer service and cleanliness is not good... Still charged me full price as I was given some excuse of the manager being away...
