Just completed a 10 night stay. Stayed in a king suite which was nice and spacious, had fully equipped kitchen which was handy - did need to ask for a couple of missing items here and there but we were able to go and collect from the front desk. Kitchen had a fridge/freezer, induction hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher. No oven or kettle unfortunately.
The fuse box did keep going off whenever I cooked anything which was annoying, or whenever I was ironing more than 3 clothing items.
All staff were friendly and very helpful. Location was good for local eateries etc. There is a grocery store round the corner but we found it quite expensive.
Breakfast was OK, but for a 10 night stay it did get very samey. Some more savoury options would be great like baked beans, hash browns, mushrooms, fried eggs (not just scrambled). There were some yoghurt granola and fruit cups during our first couple of breakfasts but then we didn't have them again which was a shame. Good selection of teas and coffee, the coffee was not hot all the time though unfortunately. Tea and coffee station was available 24/7.
There was also a little shop area with vending machines and selection of snacks etc available to purchase near the front desk.
Laundry facilities and gym were great. $2 per machine for laundry, and the run cycle was 40 mins each for washing machine and dryer. Quite good capacity. You can get quarters from the front desk, we brought our own detergent but I believe you can get some from the front desk too.
Tv in room had selection of channels and you could log in to your own Netflix / Prime etc, but we couldn't connect our laptop to the tv which we usually can do at other hotels.
We had an extended stay due to medical treatment and there was some noise disturbances from the surrounding rooms - not sure if everyone got put on one floor? Would be good for guests to be more spread out so that there is not so much noise disturbance from neighbouring rooms.
Overall we were very happy with our stay, and will likely stay here again. Would like to give 4.5 stars, just a few minor points as described above which knocked some points off but this is only because we were there for such a long stay it was...
Read moreThe Residence Inn St.Louis/Clayton feels like a brand new property because it is! How nice to stay in a property where everything is "new" from the room decor to the bedding to the bathrooms. This property is top notch.||I was in Clayton for a meeting and the Residence Inn was super convenient (3 block walk to my meeting). Just behind the property on Maryland Avenue are shops as well as restaurants such as Half & Half. Like all Residence Inns, this property offers kitchenettes, a complimentary breakfast and because it's a Residence Inn you get a lot of "room" for the cost.||I had booked a room with 1 King Bed and upon arrival was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. It was much more room than I needed and not complaining! The WiFi worked great, at night it was quiet and across the street from the property is a park.||The staff was super friendly and valet service is available (you can also park in a garage attached to the building). The Valet service is only $5 more per day than the self park so might be worth it.||The property is a short drive/Uber/Lyft to the airport (~15 minutes) and also close to downtown St. Louis. There is a Metrolink stop in Clayton which can get you to the airport but you'll need to switch lines. A Lyft or Uber is likely quicker than taking the Metrolink.||If you have business to do in Clayton or want a bit more space for your money, check out this beautiful new...
Read moreGreat experience with a few small inconveniences. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The women running the front desk have this hotel running like a well oiled machine. The check in process was quick, breakfast area was clean with great options, and housekeeping does a great job. The location of the hotel is great and a close drive to many locations in St. Louis. The area is safe and there are plenty of people walking around. I traveled with my husband and 2 small kids. There was plenty of room to blow up 2 inflatable toddler beds for our kids to sleep. There is a full refrigerator and many kitchen items. I requested a bath tub, but unfortunately only a few of their rooms have bath tubs. If that matters for you, please call first. We only stayed 1 night so we made it work. They gave us a room with a view of the park and that was really nice - my kiddos were obsessed. There was (what I think is a fire) alarm in the room that flashes constantly directly facing the bed. When the room is pitch black the light looks like a police car light. We tried to cover it up, with no luck. The parking garage is probably the most inconvenient aspect of this hotel. It’s $20 a day for parking and you go through a maze of about 5 doors getting back into the hotel. The garage is “in and out” all day which is nice. We will definitely stay here again but probably when the kids are a...
