Wood fired pizza and refreshing, inventive, wing flavors.
I was afraid the pizza was going to be of the floppy, slightly undercooked, Neapolitan variety but this pizza was much better than expected. The crust had more than enough structural integrity and the ingredients used for the pie were top notch.
The garlic cheese bread is PHENOMENAL. I would argue it’s almost better than the pizza. You just have to try it.
The main reason I came was for the wings. I saw a picture of them and immediately added them to my list. So far I’ve tried Fire, Chipotle BBQ, Maple Bourbon, and a mix of Fire and Garlic. All are unique and stray from the norm. I would recommend Fire the most. It’s a semi-spicy blend of herbs and garlic with red chili flakes.
The overall flavor of the wings are far above average. Being baked, or possibly wood fired in this case, they suffer from having almost zero crispiness. This is to be expected so I wasn’t terribly disappointed. The size of the wings is right on the verge of being a jumbo wing so all of the cons that come with those are ever-so-slightly present here. Some bites had an odd, rubbery, texture.
7.9/10 Clucks
I would prefer a smaller, crispier, wing. Just personal preference.
The BEST thing they serve here, in my opinion, isn’t actually food at all - but a condiment. Now, reader, let me tell you that I’ve very likely tried ranch from over a thousand different places after all of these years. I say this only to preface just how incredibly spectacular this ranch is. It’s thick, creamy, and herbaceous beyond belief. This ranks in my all time top 10, possibly top 5, ranches I’ve EVER had. Twice now I’ve ordered a 16oz side to go for my extracurricular...
Read moreThis was a fabulous find after a long day at the zoo. Our family ordered the involtini appetizer which was prosciutto and other things rolled into little bread spoons with 3 different dipping sauces (marinara, garlic cheese, and a balsamic reduction). For the meal, the kids had an individual sausage, an individual cheese pizza, while the hubby and I shared an 11" maple bourbon pork pizza. A side order of mc & cheese was shared (and heartily enjoyed) by all. The teenager's meal came with 3 of their cookies, which were very crisp (like a thicker and better version of a chips ahoy cookie that was warmed up). I'll own that i am not really a crunchy cookie fan, so to me this was the item that I liked the least, though the kids seemed to enjoy them. Everything else was absolutely delicious. Zero complaints. The maple bourbon glaze on the pizza my hubby and I shared was top shelf.
The environment was definitely a more upscale pizza joint and the prices reflect that. Our bill after tip was just over $100 for 2 drinks, 2 waters a kids meal, a lunch special, an 11" pizza, side of Mac & cheese, and an appetizer.
The service was fantastic - friendly and attentive without being cloying. As this location is downtown, parking may be an issue depending on the timing of your visit. We went at a time that was definitely not peak hours so parking was easy and there was hardly anyone there, so no wait times, and it was very easy for us to talk with one another. I have no idea what it might be like at a different time.
Hubby has already said he wants to come again so that he can try more of their unique flavors like the bacon pickle, and the spicier varieties that I was more...

So- ordered online to pickup for an at home date night. Arrived when I was meant to and checked in with the hostess. A few minutes go by and I’ve faded into the background so I check in again, with a different front of house worker. A few more minutes pass- still nothing. I wait. Get prompted by yet another front of house worker as the waves of pickup customers have already cycled out a few times while I was there. They disappear into the back and I never see them again. 20 minutes in I’m trying hard to act cool because I was a server for years and I get it, sometimes things are weird. I continue to wait, making meaningful eye contact with everyone I have given my name to already. 30 minutes in a manager comes to the front and asks my name. She apologized and pulled my lukewarm food from a holding bag behind the service desk- like a magic trick. It has been right next to me the whole time. I thank her and leave. I get home and open up my parcels to get started on the Caesar salad while the pizza reheats so I can pretend I’m eating a vegetable. It is a bowl of plain Lettuce with a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and a side of Italian dressing. I actually laughed a little bit. I have a sense of humor. My husband tried to hold a straight face while I seasoned and redressed the salad waxing poetic about the lack of respect that Romaine had endured, and I put the pizzas into the oven to reheat. After 20 more minutes at the house, we had dinner! I made as many dishes as if I’d cooked at home. We will try again for in-house dining. Everybody has a weird night and the pizza was actually...
