I stayed because of the high reviews, but here was my experience:
Rooms: No bugs, which is kind of rare here since most places I have stayed had roaches in this town. Right when you walk into your room it smells like cleaning stuff which is kind of nice since some hotels smell awful especially pet friendly ones. When there are noisy animals because people leave their animals by themselves, they will take care of it BUT if someone is smoking pot or anything and the smell is so strong it leaks all in the non smoking hallway and your non smoking room, they will not solve the problem. (which may be to move you or remove the smoker to actual smoking room/area). They will be annoyed at you or give you lysol which does not take care of the problem. Mind you, some nights i stayed here there weren't rooms rented around me or below me which means whomever is smoking is several rooms down and it still stinks up my room and I do not want to leave the outside door open due to the weather (even though i do and it doesn't fully help). Not too much storage in rooms (no drawers). No blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner, or complimentary coffee area. Slippery floors so be aware if you have older animals or kids, or are clumsy like me. When microwave is done it does this thing where it seems like its gonna blow a fuse which is not too bad, but made me jump at first. The view is beautiful, though.
I don't think the amount for the room is worth it just because of the smoke issue and lack of things as well as no breakfast, but its probably this price due to view, they do their best to make sure there aren't bugs, and it's on an area where there's a lot of food and gas stations.
Front desk people: some are nice and some are not, some try to accomodate as best as they can and some do not and don't want to at least this is the assumption with the responses i received (caucasian lady is mostly this way when it came to the smoke issue).
Housekeeping: they don't give you a do not disturb sign, so they will bang on your door anytime in the morning or afternoon (whenever they get to your room) even if you are sleeping and they will play their music loudly and yell amongst one another, so beware of that but they are super friendly and loved my dog.
I have bad allergies, so the smoke filling my room has woken me up or kept me up because it causes headaches, nausea, sneezing/coughing/runny nose, burning of the nostrils/throat, so that hasn't been too fun but other than that it has been just an okay stay and I would honestly stay again if the smoke wasn't an issue, could get a do not disturb sign, and if I wasn't so itchy here (i think i have an allergy to what they wash...
Read moreI stayed because they had good reviews but here's my experience! Bed was ok but I saw mold on the bath tub. But honestly no bugs I smoked outside and it's the first time i ever had to move to a smoking room because of that. The manager in the office said very rudely he isn't losing business for me being a smoker. Lol. Wanted to charge me an extra 150.00 dollars for being a smoker and being in a non smoking room. I made them check the room before I left because I certainly will dispute it I asked for coffee at five thirty but they act like we are suppose to work on their schedule. So I had to wait until 6 am on third time. The office treated me as if I am suppose to kiss their feet to be here. I'm glad I found a nicer place to stay with better customer service. To the the manager I'd like to say if you lose business It will not be because of a person that smokes. It will be because of your unpleasant attitude You may or may not lose any more customers but I promise you that you definitely lost me Less money for you from my pocket! How rude and nasty of you to blame customers to try to scam money out of us! I've been traveling from Oklahoma and I can surely tell you that this would not happen back there. Because people are alot kinder and appreciate our business! Not every person that stays here are homeless by the way because people like me travel for a living All of the rooms stink and the office smells horrible But I better get my deposit back or else I'll dispute that too with the bank. The office is rude nasty and don't need to work with customer service. I don't even have a do not disturb sign. If you stay here traveling do yourself a favor and take pictures before you leave because they try to rip us off by charging extra that honest customers do not owe. I have mine so get yours to be safe. No one is ever in the office and you have to stand there and wait on them on their time. Some of us don't have time for that. They treated me as if I have to be here. There are several others that are much better than these losers. GO ELSEWHERE save yourself from their negativity. Thankfully I had my own coffee pot to make my own, and they don't even have hair dryers. The manager said it's a business well then I'm your business and you have lost my business and it's a two way street because I was business too! Motel 6...
Read moreI was given a room next to exit on second floor with hallway entrance. I was able to come in main hallway door but not leave. Door to room worked fine. This hallway door is one of two legally required fire escapes for the second floor rooms, which according to the front desk had no vacancies. The building was not legally habitable. Balcony door in back of room did not lead to exit stairs. I was neither able to enter nor exit the hall door the next morning. The door at the other end of the hall was propped open.
I could clearly hear TV and people talking through party door and room entry door. I could feel doors slamming from the bed. The bed was comfortable, and sheets appeared clean.
I put down a $10 deposit for the foldaway sofa bedding for my two year old to sleep on. I was informed I would get it back if I didn't steal the sheets and my $10 was put in my folder for the room. I checked out the next morning and the $10 was gone. I was told "we" don't refund deposits except for something related to smoking.
Speaking of smoking, the hotel hallway smelled very strongly of drugs, mostly cigarette smoke. Our "non-smoking" room still stunk. We stayed one night and now our belongings stink of smoke. There were brown smears on the wall and many cut marks on the counter next to the sink. The hallway carpet was very worn. It was too dark to tell how dirty the hotel really was.
It would have been more economical to stay somewhere else, which includes breakfast. I do not plan to return to any Motel 6 and will make others aware of...
