My new favorite restaurant in Cleveland. To start, the tortilla chips were thin, warm, and fresh, which is rare to find and just the way I like them. The chile relleno was an unusual treat (different from a Mexican chile relleno) and it was deliciousness wrapped in a perfectly charred green bell pepper so full of flavor. And that savory sauce – oh my goodness yum! Even the rice, typically a boring side for me, had just the right amount of flavor and left me wanting more. The carnitas and chicken tacos were flavorful in simplicity, and the corn tortillas were fresh and perfect.

I had the pleasure of being there on day two of the pre-opening, so the restaurant was nearly empty. I hope word-of-mouth spreads so that this family-owned business is soon bustling with people, as they deserve. The food is too delicious not to be experienced by many. My server, Eduardo, was exceptional in his attentiveness and friendliness. I learned that his mother, Sonia, is the owner and previously worked at another local restaurant, Pupuseria Marelyn #2, which unfortunately closed due to a fire. What a pity, but how lucky for us that she now has her own restaurant. I am already excited to return. Overall, I could not be more pleased with my experience there.

Update 06/2025: I have visited multiple times since their opening and they consistently deliver delicious food. This is my go-to restaurant in Cleveland, and I would give them more than five stars in all categories if possible. The customer service is exceptional! Giovanni stands out, treating me like a valued friend. I've noticed he also engages with other tables, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. However, I want to mention that the chips have changed since my original review. While they are still good, they are no longer the thin chips I prefer. I recently had the pleasure of dining at CH’ORTI’ a new Latin restaurant specializing in Guatemalan dishes, and I can confidently say—this place is a game-changer! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and the aroma of freshly prepared food set the stage for an unforgettable meal. It’s a beautiful spacious restaurants.

Let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious. Every dish bursts with authentic flavors, and the attention to detail in the preparation is evident. The highlight of my meal? The pupusa and garnachas. Perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, yet soft and cheesy inside, it was simply phenomenal. The flavors were bold, comforting, and absolutely addictive.
