Waffle House — Restaurant in Cleveland

I went in after a long shift at work and just wanted some comfort food. (Like 845/9pm) not horribly late. There were 4 workers and only 1 other family in the whole place. I sat down and waited well over 10 min without being greeted, asked for a drink, given a menu, nothing. (10 min is just when I started counting I was there long before I started watching the clock).

The table RIGHT next to me was visited multiple times and not a single 1 of the 4 employees looked at me, acknowledged my existence or said "I'll be right with you". I've worked at restaurants for over 10 years and I'm a patient person especially if I see staff running around like crazy and being busy.... but they were not busy and after over 10 min with not a single look or word thrown in my direction I just got up and left. All 4 employees looked at me as I left but didn't say anything or ask if I wanted a to go order or anything. So they knew I was there and just never said anything on purpose?

I'll admit I sat with my notebook and pen because I was going to work on some more work while eating but that has never stopped me from getting service in the past. I do like to sit and enjoy my food so I work while I eat to slow myself down. The table next to me was able to order and receive their food by the time the next guest came in. He was waited on and STILL no one said anything to me.

I know it's a waffle house and you don't go there for the service but that's the first time in my life I've been blatantly ignored to that extent. I love waffle house but will NOT be returning to this location. I have never felt the need to leave an...

My wife and I decided to take the kids out to lunch. The waffle house had maybe 6 customers in the entirerestaurant, so we sat down at what looked like the cleanest possible table in the restaurant. One server came over with a friendly attitude, gave us our silverware and took our drink orders. When we were ready to order another server came and took our food order. This server had a very nasty and unfriendly attitude, pretty much dropped the food at the table, didn't once offer to refill our drinks or if we wanted any to-go cups, just absolutely horrible customer service. After she slapped our ticket on the table, this server went out back for a smoke, so as we were paying the original server that greeted us when we came in, we checked us out. My wife asked why our server was so rude, and the server who is also the manager said " it's almost 2pm she gets off at 2 so she's ready to go"

I'm sorry but that is a sorry excuse coming from manager, they lost a good tip from us, and we won't be returning to this waffle house. They cater more towards the returning old folks than the new customers. The floors were not swept or mopped, the waffle maker was COVERED in old waffle batter, the waffle batter was left out in the open uncovered for the flies in the restaurant to enjoy. I grew up I Georgia and I've seen plenty of waffle houses, but for this place to have been as dead as they were yet it looked as disgusting as it did was ridiculous. There is another waffle house less than 3 miles away I recommend going to that ONE STAY CLEAR...

So far so good oh. one thing so far there was a violation of my pet pieve ccommitted. the busser used the same towel to clean tables and chairs. Covid was supposed to teach us to be clean in every. i left the paul huff location bc the African American lady acted as if i must report to her how im feeling. PPL if ur patrons dont feel like talking repect them for that and just make that money. you are not thier cousins house. anywho back to georgetown rd. seems quite pleasant. oh and in retrospect did not ask hpw i was doing she just started taking my order (just learned her name is karley) im scoring low on service due to ok nevermind the low score. food is here. ok Casey is amazing. ok so this location beats ooltwah today. paul huff is a no vusit zone for me now. food is great let me tell u what it taste like waffle - like fun biscuit - like grandmamma used to make omlet - gimme some moe coke - proper would have liked to had chopped nuts on me omlet but not trippen. african american brotha asked me of everything was good. i knodded and he simply said ok and walked off. I HOPE THIS PLACE IS ALWAYS THIS COURTIOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. I need a koshure place to eat.
