This hotel had 2 chances to wow us. We stayed Feb. 15/16 before our cruise and Feb. 24/25 after our cruise. The first stay the room was less than cleanly. We found multiple hairs in our bathroom when we checked in and night staff told us to talk to day manager. We did not as we got busy the next day and then checked out for the cruise. When we came back for the second stay, we prayed for a better stay. We got to the hotel from the cruise shuttle at 8:30am. The clerk was fantastic and put us down on her list for early check in and noted we were first in line for a room, but since we wanted a king we may wait longer as they only had a few in the hotel, we said any room, we are exhausted and want to check in. She said well I cannot make promises because check in is 3pm but we should be able to accommodate you sooner. She left for the day and the next clerk was less than friendly, in fact quite rude saying check in was at 3pm and we would not be getting a room any earlier. When you know you have folks coming and going from cruises, you need to be able to make things happen. I worked in a hotel years back and we had frequent early check in requests and made every effort to make it happen for our guests. Furthermore, I booked at a government discount, and was told breakfast was included. the first stay it was for both days for both people in our room, this clerk argued when we asked for the coupons for breakfast and said she could only do 1. she said they changed the policy, we said since last weekend? she gave us the coupons. we finally went to the desk one last time to ask for early check in and they had checked in several guests ahead of us despite the fact we were first in line for early check in, the clerks excuse was we needed a king, when we pointed out the other clerk had written down we would accept either room type, she was rude and finally checked us in. the next day we had an issue with the hotel's credit card pre-authorization. We used one card to hold the reservation and one to pay. they had a large amount of money held for both cards (same amount). we went down to dispute it and the same very rude clerk was working (supervisor) and she argued saying it was not possible. I said yes it is, we showed her the duplicate holds on both of our cards and she finally agreed to call the credit card authorization department?. the person claimed to remove the hold from my card and would charge my husbands. when we checked out, the night clerk was there again, it was 3am and we had a shuttle at 315am to airport. he asked us about our stay, was super nice, gave us extra SPG points for our trouble and assured us he would work to resolve the issues we had. we left thinking better thoughts of the hotel, then came home to a nightmare with our checking account. they again held the pre-authorized amount for the room (well in excess of the actual cost and charges), but not only did they have a hold on the money in our checking account through our debit card, they had also completed charging our debit card for our second stay and not removed the pre-authorization amount resulting in several overdraft charges to our account. we kept our money in our savings to avoid fraud during our trip and had just enough to cover expenses in checking. now my husband is at the bank trying to repair the damage. I CAN SAY, I AM NOT HAPPY with this stay at all. We were on our honeymoon and these constant issues that should not have happened ruined our stay and left a black mark on our trip overall. We loved the hotel location, but was a disappointing experience and hassle overall. BE WARY of Staying here. kudos to Jesse the night clerk for trying to make things right and Theresa? who checked us in the second stay (and put us on the list for early check in). Shari? the supervisor needs serious customer...
Read moreI requested a 2pm check-in instead of the standard 3pm check-in and extra pillows but neither were granted. I pulled up to the hotel and couldn't check in because there wasn't any parking on the first floor of the parking garage. I had to go to the roof of the parking garage and then take the elevator to the lobby to check in. After checking in I had to go to the roof of the parking garage to gather my things and go back down to the 4th floor to find my room. I was quite upset because I was being charged for parking in addition to the room rate yet people who go to the beach for the day are able to park in the garage for free. If I'm paying for parking then I believe that I should be entitled to parking on the floor of the room in which I am staying. Once I was done with the parking situation I found myself having to deal with the musky smell in my room. I turned on the bathroom vent which was very loud but that didn't seem to help much and I couldn't open the windows to vent the room. The furniture in the room with outdated. The air conditioning unit was very loud and didn't seem to cool the room very much. The upholstered chair by the window was filthy. The carpet was filthy. The pillows were fluffy until you laid down at which point they became flat. I wanted to escape the smell in my room so I headed to the pool. The website advertises the pool as having a waterfall and it does have a waterfall but the pool is in the parking garage. The pool does not offer any privacy as it can be seen from the side street as well as the car's pulling into the parking garage. The pool does have a waterfall but the pool itself is small and the jacuzzi is even smaller. The pool does not allow for sunning as it is located on the first floor of the parking garage which does not allow for the sun to shine through. The pool is surrounded by loud noises and the smell of car exhaust. The pool was not working on several of the evening's that I stayed at the hotel. The restaurant in the lobby does not serve good food. I ordered mozzarella sticks and a pizza with several toppings. When I got back up to my room I realized that the extra topping that I paid for was not added to my pizza. I gave the pizza a try anyways but it was not to my liking and I only picked off the toppings and had to throw the rest away. The mozzarella sticks were fine. The only highlight came at the time of check out when Teresa took genuine interest in my very upsetting stay at the hotel. Teresa listened to my complaints and apologized for my horrible stay. Teresa showed excellent customer service skills and did everything she could to correct the situation. I was refunded a portion of my stay. I will not be staying at this hotel again but thanks to Teresa I will consider the Sheraton as an option for...
Read moreThe hotel has been aging for some time, and is now in dire need of major updates to the rooms, furniture, lighting, air conditioning, and pool furniture. Location and staff are great, and we've ben coming for years, but it will be hard to talk the family in to returning next year without rennovations.
The air conditioning system is barely functional, and all rooms and hallways remain damp. Yes, it's Florida, but we stayed at another hotel in JAX Beach on our way home, same weather, but night and day difference - the AC worked at the other hotel, even with windows that opened to the outdoors.
The rooms need to be completely overhauled. The bed was not as comfortable as other Four Points hotels. The pull-out sofa was showing its age and was not comfortable. The TV is in the bedroom (as opposed to in the separate area with the sofa), and offers no external connectivity for personal devices. The lighting is not sufficient in the room, especially since the windows in the larger rooms open to the interiorof the surf shop (not a bad view, we actually enjoy looking at the surf shop, restaurant, and aquarium from the windown - the light is just very limited). The built-in furniture does not include drawers or shelves for clothing - not well-suited for more than a night or two.
The hotel pool with the waterfall is great, and the hot tub is a nice size (larger than most). The pool furniture is very limited - only one table with three chairs, and about 6 or 7 very old/dilapidated lounge chairs. We brought our own beach chairs to the pool to ensure we had a place to sit, and watched several families arrive, look around for a place to sit, then leave. More small tables and chairs would serve better in the small space than the lounge chairs, especially as there is very limited sunlight (the pool is mostly under the parking garage, which is terrific for those of us that want a cool place out of the sun to hang out mid-afternoon).
The key card access to the hotel from the parking deck as well as to the hotel pool were inoperable during our visit (Memorial Day weekend 2021). We watched as many guests of the hotel across the street as well as individuals that had paid for beach parking for the day used the pool (leaving no room for the previously mentioned families that were guests of the hotel but could not find seating).
I am writing in the sincere interest of helping the Four Points Cocoa Beach improve. We've loved coming every year......
