My wife and I recently dined at Rock The Guac. I am sad to say that we were very dissatisfied. I had previously eaten at Rock The Guac about two years ago, and I was impressed with everything. However this visit was a crying shame. The freshness and flavor of the food, the restaurant cleanliness, and the portion sizes all needed serious help. The whole experience started off wrong, as the young male who prepared our food had a very nonchalant attitude. His demeanor made it seem as if he didn't care about the customers, the food, or his job at all. The mood was further soured when the same employee seriously skimped on our ingredients. I was very disappointed as I watched him only put 1/2 scoop of rice, and 1/2 scoop of meat into my burrito. I frequently dine at many different counter serve "tex-mex" restaurants, and none of the others have ever given me such a meager portion of ingredients. For this reason, I immediately felt slighted by not only his bad attitude but also the stingy portions. It almost seemed as if this employee was trying to persuade me not to return. My next point of contention was the cleanliness of the condiment bar and drink station. It was just a mess. Most of the hot sauce bottles looked crusty, and drippy as if they hadn't been wiped off in days. There were visible drink and sauce spills on the counter area near the soda machine that needed to be wiped up. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. I have worked in the restaurant industry before. I know that some days customer service and cleanliness isn't as perfect as it could be. This is understandable to me, but bad food...NO THANK YOU! I ordered a burrito meal, and my wife had chips and queso. None of teh food tasted homemade. The "queso dip" and the hot sauce tasted like they came from a can. The rice, (what little I received) was seriously lacking flavor. The steak tasted like it was barely seasoned, and it almost relied on the salsa and hot sauce to give it some Mexican flavor. None of the "flavors" stood out, none of them tasted very fresh, and none of them will bring me back again. The only positive thing we experienced here was the cashier. This lady was AWESOME. She had great customer service, a positive attitude, and she genuinely seemed to care about the customers. My wife and I both commented about how upbeat and nice the cashier was after we left. Unfortunately, The positively awesome cashier is just not enough to make me want to come back to Rock The Guac for a third try.
So, in conclusion--I sincerely hope that Rock The Guac improves its food, service, and cleanliness, lest it be put out of business by the competition. If you decide to try Rock The Guac, all is can say is...
Read moreCould be a great taco place due to convenience, but suffers from a lack or proper management. The food is pretty cliché, nothing that makes it's poor management something you can overlook. Why did management leave a mark on me? I visited this store twice, both after a scheduled launch. Nestled right by Ron Jon one would think that they would be better prepared to handle traffic and a tourist rush. This is not the case. I visited 1.5 hrs prior to their scheduled closing time. As I was waiting in line management decided it best to close an hour early that day due to "a rush" turning potential customers away, regardless that there was still food to consume. That same manager when it was brought to her attention that the drink station need servicing of straws only placed 5 straws back in the bin. She handed my daughter a straw that was left on the dirty counter saturated with drink residue of prior guests stating that "there is a straw right here." Still being a line behind us, I knew that 5 straws wouldn't be sufficient for the remaining guests. She also failed to locate the lids that were also empty. After waiting with no response I had to search for the lids and draw them out from under the counter so that other guests can get their drinks. It was as if she was in a rush to close the restaurant over the needs of serving guests. Her practices are not leadership material. The chips also taste like Tostitos and not restaurant fresh. I will now inconveniently find a further taco stand to feed my family before I chose Rock the Guac again. To leave on a good note, the family did enjoy the food, the variety of the food and the...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place. Kid at register was too stupid to take orders correctly and couldn't make change. No business working w money. There are sauces at table to try in your burrito. Definetly wasn't for me. Small place that's cramped during busy hours. Was on vacation 14 days this summer in Florida and this was very forgettable. Food mediocre at best. Edit: at owners request I will provide more information. This Vacation happened in June. I'm not going to try to figure out the day and time. Just finishing up some reviews and I stand firm. Perhaps I am in the minority sir, and that's terrific that others liked it. However myself and 3 kids didn't care for it. But the kid at the counter could not make change of a 100. I had to dispute the amount he tried to give me the first time. The other male worker that was on shift just rolled his eyes at him and smiled. Obviously he was new. I was erked already because he already had my 3 kids meals rang up and didn't make sure we had any drinks, before I could get to the register, then demanded my 14 year old to pay. That lead to the confusion. Then he added my burrito to the order and wanted pay. And didn't charge me for the drink. All the time with 15 other customers all standing behind us giving the stink eye. I just didn't appreciate it. And as for my reviews I give plenty of well deserved ones along with the bad. But when your on vacation and drive over 1000 miles to face what I faced in your establishment....very disappointing, like I said before. And yea, my kids meals were so bad they wouldn't eat it and we had to have lunch down the road a 2nd...
