I stopped going here shortly after the pandemic hit when I was served a piece of steak that smelled rotten even after it was cooked. Before that occurrence, I had stopped going to this location due to leaving the area, and I wonder if sometime between 2013 and the pandemic, new ownership or management occurred. Still, overall, this place has deteriorated over the years. After the bad-smelling steak I was served, I stopped going until this month (September 2024). I ordered a chicken meal, and to start, the chicken was less than a breath and, even then, was cut in half and laid over rice and topped with corn to give the appearance of a larger portion. In my opinion, it had been sliced thin between what seemed to be less than a whole breast of chicken. The taste was also off. I wish I could describe it to make my post more clearly defined, but I cannot put my finger on what the taste I thought perhaps it tasted like a sour seasoning or something other than what I knew the dish to taste like; it was just very off-putting for the dish and tasted poor. The poorly prepared meal was not the issue. Poorly made dishes are just that; they are not a big deal. But what PO’d me off more than anything was the immediate attitude of the female bartender. I never requested a refund nor suggested it since the taste did not hit me until around halfway through the meal. I also understand that sometimes these things happen. In any case, she gave me an attitude for her and did the trick. I was very polite and, as I left, attempted to describe to the young lady at the front the taste so they could correct it so it does not happen again; she was very dismissive and kept interrupting my brief explanation so perhaps she could inform the cook, and maybe he could check his seasonings. Her consistent, yeah…Yeah…yeah, it clearly gave the impression that she could care. So, the rude and dismissive staff was the final straw for me. Even after this location served what seemed to be lousy meat to me, I attempted to give them a second chance, and they confirmed why I should have never returned to this location in the first place. I suggest going a bit further north or south to find a better location that you will enjoy far more than this establishment. Sadly, this place back in 2013-2015 was the place to go to, and the menu was astonishing. Never had a negative thing to say about this place. It is sad to see it become what...
Read moreThis visit took place 2/24/24 when a friend was visiting from out of town. Very disappointing food experience. We walked out of a store and smelled grilling meat, so he suddenly really wanted a burger. As we started driving to look for a place, I saw Rock Bottom and thought I'd take him to a Colorado original. It's been several years since I've been just because I don't typically sit down alone and don't want to pay higher prices for bar food to go. The dining room side was pretty empty when we got there around 7:30ish, and our server was friendly and attentive with taking our order and samples of beer. Our order was a little slow arriving given how empty the place was. I love mac & cheese, but theirs was extremely disappointing with its bland flavor and lack of saucy cheesiness. It was like pasta stirred with shredded cheese rather than an actual cheese sauce. My friend ordered a well-done burger, but he got a dry hockey puck. He sent it back, and the replacement took forever and was almost as bad as the first (they also served his same fries from the first plate that had been getting soggy and were not hot instead of a fresh pile), but he decided to eat it anyway. When we let the server know the food was still a problem, she said the cook had been there since 8am and then asked, "Can I make it up to you with a slice of carrot cake?" That sounds like the cake slice would be comped, and something definitely needed to be comped on our bill given what happened with my friend's food. Even sending food back and getting a correctly cooked item, other places have automatically either taken off the charge or taken 50% off of that item. Instead, she brought us a bill for the full total. We objected and explained both her choice of wording as well as customer service, so she went to the manager who approved removing the charge for the cake. I will say my friend really liked the carrot cake, and I agree that it was good as it wasn't too sweet and wasn't a spice cake with shredded carrot. However, I won't be returning since I'm more interested in entrées than desserts, and the entrée experience left a lot...
Read moreReally disappointed with Rock Bottom today. This has been the families goto spot since we got stationed here. And when any of our family members come to visit us, this is where we take them.
Today, we took the family and also the ones visiting for Thanksgiving to Rock Bottom at opening. There was 11 of us total. My son has a dairy allergy and when we go out, we always bring his food with us as to many restaurants do not accommodate for his allergy. We have been to Rock Bottom on multiple occasions and this has never been an issue.
We were in the waiting area for about ten minutes and was briefed that they were short staffed that it would be a minute. Once seated, everyone was preparing to order. A waitress came with waters and told us that she was in training, that she was waiting for another waitress to assist. Few minutes go by and the manager came and told us he just got off the phone with the district manager and that we are unable to bring food with us even if it is to accommodate for my sons dairy allergy. My wife tried to speak and the manager cut her off, insisting for us to leave.
Again, we have been here for multiple occasions and bringing my sons food has never been an issue. If there was a problem for this occasion, they could have said something when we first came in, or while waiting in the waiting area. They was no other customers there. If this is a policy, not sure how we have been able to eat here multiple times. Either way, the managers professionalism was nonexistent and definitely needs developing. Not sure how a business can have someone representing their business in a managers position and be unprofessional. I know this can just be a bad day for someone or maybe being short staffed affected the situation, just hoping this...
