The Palace Theatre in Columbus is a historic gem and was a highlight of our family’s spring break trip, and it’s a venue that left us in awe! Stepping into this historic theater felt like stepping back in time—the architecture is simply stunning, with its elegant design inspired by the Palais de Versailles. The intricate details, from the grand entrance to the ornate ceilings, made us feel like we were in a palace ourselves. It’s no wonder this place has such an amazing history as a restored movie palace—it’s a true gem in the heart of Columbus. We were there to see Wild Kratts Live 2.0: Activate Creature Power! on April 4, 2025, and it was the perfect venue for this lively, family-friendly show. The theater’s seating (with a capacity of 2,695) gave us a fantastic view of the stage, and the atmosphere was electric as the Kratt Brothers brought their signature energy to the performance. Our kids were thrilled to see Chris and Martin activate their Creature Power Suits and go “off to the creature rescue,” with plenty of laughs, animal facts, and interactive moments that had the whole audience shouting out answers and making animal noises. The blend of live-action and animation, with clips on the big screens, kept everyone engaged, and the show’s educational yet fun vibe was a hit for both kids and parents. The Palace Theatre added such a special touch to the experience with its historic charm and welcoming vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the family-friendly amenities like booster seats and sensory bags (available with a valid ID). It’s a fantastic place to enjoy a show, especially for families looking to make lasting memories. We’d highly recommend the Palace Theatre to anyone visiting Columbus—it’s a must-see venue, and catching Wild Kratts Live 2.0 here was an...
Read moreHad an event at the theatre in June 2, 2024. The theatre was beautiful first of all! Breathtaking even. I very much enjoyed looking at all the architectural details both inside and out. Unfortunately I have mobility issues and walk with a cane. I also need a railing or something to hold if there are variations in the ground, steps, slopes etc. We had purchased VIP tickets to avoid the lines, get early entry, to avoid getting jostled by the crowd and better seats. We picked up our will call ticket in an outer lobby and were told we would need to go to the end of the line of all attendees and wait until doors opened in an hour. The line snaked around the building and we had early entry. I expressed confusion and was rudely told by two staff to go to the end of the line. I found someone who appeared to be in charge and explained my mobility issues and that I could not stand for over an hour. I asked if I could sit in the outer lobby. She rolled her eyes, said nothing to me but appeared with a chair and said go outside through security first. I tried to thank her but she quickly walked away. I went outside to security and they told me to go to the end of the line! I explained what just happened and they sent someone in to check if this was true. Grumbling the whole time they did the security check. Once inside the theatre the disorganization was stunning. I was pushed and shoved repeatedly because there were no delineations between merch line, beverage line and line to get inside the theatre. Again the place was beautiful but obviously they had no ability to recognize difficulties for someone with a disability and organization of the lobby area for anyone was...
Read moreI called ahead to refund our tickets for The Festival of Praise Tour. Due to my husband’s recent surgery, he’d need his leg to be elevated while seated and non-weight bearing. Kind lady on the phone encouraged us to still come because the Palace could accommodate us. Upon arriving early as we we approached a male employee with earpiece on, whom appeared to be in charged. He was initially refusing to grab two chairs for my husband to sit and elevate his leg while we waited for the doors to open, as I was promised.. He was rude, inquiring as to who told me this? I showed him my confirmation number because they’d also agreed to switch my tickets for seats in a box vs. the aisle seats I originally purchased due to the need for leg elevation. He complained about having to walk very far away to find chairs. This man had a lack of natural affection. He definitely shouldn’t be in a position of authority for The Palace Theater. His face was frowned up throughout the whole 5-10 minute conversation while my husband was standing on crutches sweating and we’re both humiliated in front of the other guests who were also waiting..Don’t go to this theater if you need a reasonable accommodation. Eventually a female usher approached us and reassured us that she would assist us while waiting and throughout the event we would be taken care of, I wish I’d asked names because she made us feel a lot better about my 2 1/2 hour drive, hotel reservation, and our not refunding our ticket...even though Donnie McClurkin wasn’t going to perform. This was my third time coming to a concert here...not sure if...
