Stayed here 4 nights for a music festival. Worst hotel I've ever been in. Checked in late Wednesday night. Our room was dirty. There was a dog toy left behind on the floor. The bathtub hadn't been cleaned. There was trash left behind on the top ledge of the shower. The water pipe in the shower felt like it was going to pull right out of the wall when you went to turn the water on. The beds were terrible. The pillows were hard and flat. Friday night we came back from the festival to a flooded bathroom. When I went to complain he offered to let us switch rooms. The first key he gave us didn't work because the door handle was broke? So he gave us a different room. This new room wasn't much better. The bathtub wasn't cleaned very well. The toilet had something wrong with it that we had to turn the water off to the toilet when we weren't using it because if we didn't the tank would overflow and it would leak out from the handle. When I went down to complain again I was basically told there wasn't anything he could do any further, that the whole back building was having plumbing issues, and that we could speak to the manager in the morning. We asked for extra towels and we're told he only had small ones. They ended up being bath mats. Saturday morning when I went to complain the manager wasn't in. I was told they would be in Sunday morning. The lady at the front desk told me there had been a plumbing issue the night prior and they had called a “toilet fixer guy” to come so it would be resolved. Saturday when we came back from the festival our room key didn't work. When we went up to get it fixed we asked for towels again and was told they didn't have any and they were all dirty. When we got in our room our toilet had never been fixed. Sunday when I went to check out the manager wasn't coming in until Monday so either the girl the day before lied to me or the manager purposely didn't come in to avoid everyone. Over all both rooms were terrible. Housekeeping is terrible. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The rooms have a terrible smell to them. Everyone else that we had talked to that were staying there had issues with how clean their rooms were and the plumbing. The guys down the hall from us had a tub that wouldn't drain. There was a guy that had footprints in his bed and the housekeeper never even changed his sheets after he complained. Awful experience. Only good thing about this hotel was a raccoon that came to raid the dumpster and even...
Read moreThe only thing that was decent was that they took cash. I got into the room. Since I was in the area for check ups related to my cancer diagnosis, I needed a good night's sleep. Bed felt pretty decent initially. The room aesthetic was dull, but really didn't bother me one way or the other. I took my bath and went to bed about 11pm. Shortly after midnight, I woke up with intense itching on my neck, which iny experience meant only one thing --bed bugs. I found one in the pillow. I then stripped the bed where I found a 2nd one. At that point, I bathed again very quickly, inspected my belongings and left. I went to the front desk where I told them what was going on. They offered to put me in a different room. Uh, no, why would I do that? The night person did immediately refund my deposit and I left. I had to sleep in my car--which, as you can imagine, was not ideal. When I went for my appointments, all the medical personnel had to gown up when they came in there, and I was subjected to being inspected from my hair all the way to my toes while there because of this. One of the medical personnel did call the hotel on my behalf to get the refund I deserved. I was called by a lady, Tina may have been her name, but I'm not certain as the lady had an extremely thick accent. She told me to come get the money today. I said no, that was already on my way back home, and that they needed to mail me a check, and that I would be happy to give them my address. The lady said they would see what they could do, but that they didn't usually do that. The lady also told me that they had been sold out the weekend before with no problem (and I care because? I have a problem now.) The medical person that was going to bar for me on this called me shortly thereafter. She initiated another call to them. They again called me to come get the refund. By this time, I was back home, so I refused that of course, and reiterated that there needs to be a check mailed to me, as I don't expect to be back in the area until my next Dr visits in 3 months They also offered me a free night's stay, which I immediately refused. I took a few pictures of things and a video to show that the room was left in decent condition other than the bed...
Read moreThis past weekend I took a trip to Columbus, Ohio for work and also to go shopping for bridesmaid dresses for my upcoming nuptials. I chose the Motel 6 as my place to stay and was very excited about my trip. That excitement quickly went away as I walked into my room. The outside of the hotel and the neighborhood was pleasing, but the floors inside the hotel were so gross that within a few steps out of my shoes, my socks were more black than the soul of Satan himself. Not only were my socks black, but the previous tenant also had the same issue because there were black footprints in the tub…clearly cleanliness was not a priority when turning down this room. The floors were one thing, but the beds were another fiasco. The cigarette burns in the blankets showed that someone clearly took the mantra “make yourself at home” a little too far and Motel 6 thought no one would notice. We noticed. Especially when we came back from exploring the city and realized that the staff only made 1 bed. What I hope happened is that something otherworldly or something with the status of “Jesus burnt into a grilled cheese” showed up and distracted them halfway through. They were so mystified and moved by what was going on that they dropped what they were doing, quit their jobs, and started on a new life path dedicated to this moment. What probably happened is the maid picked their favorite bed, which we all know they have, and just made that one. I should also mention that I was told there was a hair dryer in the room so I left mine behind, but when it came down to crunch time, there was no hair dryer. I was faced with a dilemma, standing there practically naked because the towel was the size of a dish rag, hair soaking wet and a dinner reservation time that was creeping closer and closer. Needless to say, I didn’t make it on time and when I expressed my issue to the front desk clerk I was met with a no care attitude and a lovely “what do you want me to do about it”. I wish this experience had gone another way because it seemed promising, but unfortunately I will probably never stay at this Motel 6 again.
I have attached some pictures. I took a few pictures of the mysterious black footprints in the tub but can no...
