Chicken Chicken Chicken!!
On my way out of Columbus one sunny afternoon, I noticed Roosters from the parking lot at the Marriot. I had eaten breakfast a few hours previously and I was on my way to PA, a 5-6 hour drive. I had to eat quickly and get o the road, so I went over to Roosters for a quick bite. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon right around lunchtime. I walked in and to my chagrin this place was packed. I was lucky enough since I was travelling alone that I got seated right away. I can tell that it is a popular spot as there were people of all ages, from all walks of life and all chicken lovers. I really didn't have time to try anything elaborate I just needed something light and quick.
I decided on the Roosters Noodle Soup and The Char-Grilled Chicken Salad. The soup came out and it was a little thick and gooey, possibly from the bottom of the pot. None the less, the soup had some depth of flavour to it so it was enjoyable. My salad had everything I needed. I was a light dish with succulently grilled morsels of mouth-watering white chicken breast. I loved it!! The dressing was on the side but tasted a little like it was from a bottle and not homemade ( I could be wrong ). Keep in mind I was in a rush, wolfed down my food and had to leave. So I didn't have much time to do a thorough review. I will say aside from the gooeyness of the soup, my meal was pretty good. I would like to go to a Roosters again and try...
Read moreWe are extremely loyal once a week to Roosters in German Village. It is closed to construction so we came here. It was 4:30 in the afternoon Sunday the 9th of Feb. we have a 5 month old baby in a car seat with us.
My wife went in and spoke to the hostesses and we got a table right away. It was crowded, this was the only table available. I was parking the car so I arrived at the table a few minutes later. Once we got the car seat to the table it was determined that this table was not adequate because of a lack of space for the car seat and being a high traffic in the area.
My wife returned to the hostess stand, to let them know of the problem and to see if there was another table available. They were very short and told her that there was no other table available and then ignored her. The reason for the one star is because the hostess staff never provided the option for us to put our names back on the list... for whatever reason. Because of this experience we decided to leave the restaurant rather push the issue any further. We will not be returning to this location; instead waiting for the German Village location to reopen. Please visit here if you want to deal with...
Read moreWe stopped by this location on a Saturday evening, 8pm-ish, after a Columbus sporting event and had a booth seat within a few moments. Wait staff was friendly enough and attentive to drink & food orders although, clearly, the big bar bills were getting priority.
We both ordered quesadillas and had no complaints (the potato wedges saved the meal) and, while I know this is a “wings & beer” joint, I went out on the edge to order a recommended flavored margarita (cranberry). While I drank it, what a huge disappointment with neither cranberry nor tequila nor any real flavor coming through. I shared my belief of an overall bland & non-impressive drink with the waitress (no real response from her at all) and ordered a traditional margarita on the rocks (for $1.50 less than the “special”). A little more taste, but equally watered down and a waste of time and money…all with no sense of apologetic (even fake) attitude from our waitress.
Moral of the story, at least for this night, if I wanted margaritas I should have hit up the nearby Mexican restaurant instead of roosters. Beer it is, if I come here...
