The other day, while up at the Silverdale Trails area, I noticed a restaurant called Waffle Stop. I had no idea this restaurant had opened up. I'm not much of a breakfast eater; however, I was interested to find out if it was all about waffles; of course, it is, hence the name!! Also, it is mainly breakfast with a hand full of choices for lunch. I quickly viewed the reviews from locals such as myself; many of them could have been more reassuring, but sometimes you have to find out for yourself before passing judgment! So, I decided to take my cousin out for lunch there; they have one menu all day and serve mainly breakfast with just a few lunch items, from 7 am to 3 pm.
Lynnea sat us; she was our server, a happy, pleasant person, and she managed several tables efficiently; as we were getting close to finishing up with our food, the restaurant got full quickly.
We knew what we wanted; fortunately, they offered a menu for viewing on the outside, so we were prepared once we got in!
I had the turkey bacado. The sandwich was turkey, avocado, bacon, and tomatoes on a southern-style waffle. It usually has herb mayo, but I'm not a fan of mayo, so I ordered it mayo-free. Also, a small bowl of fresh fruit was on the side! I discovered that I am a fan of toasted bread with this type of sandwich; although the waffles came toasted, they were soft and OK in taste; generally, the sandwich was decent, but only partially what I was craving. Generally, turkey bacon sandwiches are a little on the blander side; I'm confident this is why they slather it in herb mayo, but a harder toast (not mouth-ripping) would have been more appropriate, IMO.
My cousin had shareable garlic parmesan waffle fries. It was crispy waffle fries with homemade garlic butter and parmesan cheese with homemade ranch dressing. First, the picture that I show doesn't do the size of that plate justice; my goodness, two or three people could have easily eaten off that platter and skipped a regular meal altogether. Of course, being curious, my cousin gave me a few to taste; their taste was delicious, but if I had to advise on what I would say would be better, it needed more cheese. Also, aside from the pool of butter underneath them, the fries on top were extremely greasy. We had three to-go boxes full of those fries, and every single one leaked through, mind you, this was going from the restaurant straight to my cousin's home, maybe ten minutes away. The taste was great, and the amount was substantial, lol.
One thing that bothered me was not bad enough to never go back, but bad enough to mention, as we were seated, and at the time of being placed, there were tons of seating in the restaurant. Still, our server decided to seat a group of people right next to us; the seating is in close quarters, but having a group so close and being able to hear their conversation with ease and vice versa doesn't make for a pleasant experience, Plus another person came to make a total of five people, we offered our table and took the next table over, at that point we were all crammed together. I understand that once the restaurant starts filling up, you have to do what is necessary, but until that point, space people out a little bit. Overall, although not much of a breakfast fan, I look forward to returning and trying breakfast out next time.

Read morePick up order/Take Out Review ordered south of the border scramble Showed up on a Friday morning (12/22/23) to start a take out order. People at my work have been wanting to try this place and I figured I’d check it out for everyone. Server (quite flustered over a half full building) finishes with other guests and tells me he’ll take my order only to disappear and go back to attending to other tables. Literally went and filled a whole table of drinks rather than taking a 15 second order before going back to other guests. Finally takes the order, has me write down my number so I ask how long the wait will be (said nothing about how long it’d be) and a long pause ensues before guessing 25 minutes. I say that’s fine I’ll come back then, and to please give me a call if it’s ready dinner. says he will “try”. So I show up 20 mins after, foods packed up by the front table. Never was approached so I just took the food since I had already paid. Immediately took it to work and was surprised to find it literally cold. Must have been sitting a good minute (never got called). A full minute microwave and still wasn’t fully warmed up lol. Between the cold food, lack of ingredients (very little peppers and onions), and extremely poor quality customer service, I won’t be able to recommend this establishment to anyone in the future. Quite the opposite. Mind you, my experience was for take out, but I doubt the food gets that much better when dining in since I ate it right after picking it up. Lastly I paid $17 for the plate, it’s pretty bold to offer such a inferior takeout dining experience and charge that much for mid-tier quality food at best. Learn from my mistake, go anywhere else in Silverdale for...
Read moreI felt slightly let down by this place, which was a bummer since I was so excited to try it out. I love waffles!
The atmosphere is super chill, but the marketing materials on the tables and the decor around the restaurant make it feel slightly upscale. (At least when compared to other breakfast joints)
I had high hopes when it came to food quality when we recieved our sharable. We ordered the garlic parmesan fry plate, and when we recieved it, it was a massive plate of waffles fries loaded with parmesan. It 100% did not disappoint. But then we recieved our main courses.. that wow factor just wasn't there. My Lemon Blueberry waffle was $13 for a single waffle with toppings, but was smaller than expected, and it was more cool whip than waffle. I also ordered a side of sausage patties, which was an extra $6 just for two, so I assumed they'd be relatively large patties. Unfortunately they were pretty small and did not seem worth the extra $6. The taste was amazing, but the cost just didn't seem worth the price.
Though, service was amazing, both of the ladies that helped us were very sweet and attentive.
I may come back if and when we are a little more well off, as the taste and service was great. With 20% tip we paid $77 for just two people, and that's a little steep for our pockets. However, it would be worth the try to people who arent concerned...
