IF YOU LIKE HAVING ROACHES AND A CENTIPEDE IN UR ROOM... STAY HERE..
**I checked into the roach motel on May 28th 2021 and discovered the roach the next day on the 29th took pic and killed. I was unaware of the centipede and another roach in the adjourning room until Sunday
** Lisa Custard is the general manager, when I notified her of my issue she wasn't empathic to the situation. NOR did she apologize for my inconvenience nor did she offer a pausabile solution providing 20% discount for the one nite of inconvenience for my sisters room, when I stayed three nites. We, tried to get moved, spoke to Joseph, who was the front desk concierge. The hotel was booked and we knew we couldn't get another one last minute and loose money because it was bike fest weekend in Myrtle Beach. Joseph was unwilling to contact the manager at the time of our complaint but, according to Ms. Custard with whom we spoke to on Sunday stated he called her that nite to make her aware. Because I didn't report 101 had a roach that day but, provided a picture of the critter. I wasn't provided any accommodation but, Joseph stated he "sprayed" my room when I left so I went to Walmart and brought roach spray and glue traps just so I can ensure I could have a decent night sleep before I took that 10hour drive. Overall, the breakfast was good, the housekeepers were friendly and offered fresh towels everyday. I don't live with bugs at my home and sure didn't think I was going to have to pay to stay with them either. Stay at your own risk.... and bring something...
Read moreHotel poorly in need of updates. Sign at the desk says reno starts Monday but it should have started a long time ago. We had 2 rooms and they were across from each other. But the first night one of the rooms had the ac stop working and the toilet wouldn’t stop running. Maintenance came and fixed the a/c and supposedly fixed the toilet but a couple of hours later, the toilet overflowed into the carpet outside of the bathroom. So they had to be moved, at 11pm, with a 4 year old who had been asleep. But they had to actually request to be moved because the front desk didn’t even offer it. Ended up getting moved to the 3rd floor, while we were on the first floor. Huge inconvenience since we were a family of 6, two parents, two grandparents and two children. One of the kids stayed with the parents while the other stayed with the grandparents, so we really needed to be on the same floor. The other room was handicap accessible but the shower floor was like ice. Had it not been for the grab bars, I would have surely fallen when I first stepped into the shower. Water pressure is horrible!! Took me forever to rinse the shampoo out of my short hair, can’t imagine someone with long hair trying to deal with it. The carpet was filthy dirty, the baby crawled around for a little bit and her feet were black. Disgusting!! Can’t imagine I will ever want to return to this hotel, even after their renovations. Just too many negatives that I don’t think...
Read moreUpon our arrival we were greeted cheerfully by the front desk clerk, who gave us keys to a room even though it was more than an hour before check-in time. Unfortunately the room had not been cleaned yet, and a return trip to the front desk quickly rectified the situation with keys to another room that was ready. Our king suite was spacious, appeared to have recently been painted, and the bathroom fixtures were in like-new condition. The room furnishings were in generally good condition, but the couch cushion seams had separated in places with the internal cushion material visible. The TV was at the far end of the bedroom section and located in a cabinet that obstructed viewing from the couch. The refrigerator was fairly large for a motel fridge, and there was a second sink adjacent to the bathroom that was an appreciated extra convenience (an improvement would be to install a light above the sink mirror). The bed was comfortable, and the room and the bathroom were very clean. Additional positives included a well-filled jar of mints at the front desk, and cookies at the front desk at check-in time and in the early evening. The breakfast area is rather small, and while coffee was available in the lobby during non-breakfast hours, no hot water or tea bags were provided for tea drinkers. And we discovered that the people who dream up additional "fees" to tack onto published room rates are still hard at work when a $1.00 "Hotel Services Fee" was added...
