Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing prices! I literally walked in maybe 10 minutes after they opened (I tried to wait a bit longer but I was starving). I had no expectations of the place considering I was driving home on 501 and happened to glance over at it. However, when I walked in and saw the sushi bar my interest was FULLY piqued. Thankfully I had already decided on what I wanted beforehand because I became a little overwhelmed with just how many options there are. They have sushi, hibachi, appetizers galore, and my main reason for coming, RAMEN. I’ve been trying to find places in South Carolina for some good ramen and this place right here has jumped all the way to the top spot. I ordered the regular beef broth ramen with grilled chicken, and an appetizer of edamame. When I tell you STEAM WAS STILL RISING off my edamame and it was perfectly salted! Shortly after I got my edamame my ramen came out and firstly, the presentation was absolutely gorgeous. The picture I took was after I moved my tableware around so I don’t think it quite does it justice. I was prepared for the chicken to be like slices of chicken on top of the ramen but for it to be served on the side was a fun experience. Either way the food was absolutely delicious ESPECIALLY the boiled egg (my eyes rolled to the back of my head when eating it). I don’t know how they seasoned that egg so well but it was very flavorful (maybe fresh ginger was used?) and ended up being the only thing I could fully eat. I’m so glad I took the rest home because if I had finished eating everything there I would have fallen asleep at the table!! The best part about this meal which, thank you Cindy (I hope I remembered your name right!) and the chefs, was the price!! It may be the lunch prices but even so I got all this food for under $20!!! I had to add a well-deserved, generous tip though. All in all, for $25, I’m super excited for my next chance to...
Read moreWe went to have a nice late lunch, everything was really nice when we first walked in. The waitress was amazing and attentive. My friend had ordered the Ramen without the things she knew she wouldn’t eat, me and my boyfriend got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. We got the teriyaki dishes first that was boiling hot to the point where it was starting to boil on to us and burning us. Other then the hot teriyaki sauce basically burning us, it did taste good if you like really sweet teriyaki sauce. My friend on the other hand had to pick even more stuff out of her Ramen, as they added mixed greens and other things instead of the original recipe that was on the menu. When we had questioned everything that was in it they didn’t bother to tell their waitress, we then felt bad that we kept having the waitress go back and forth just to figure out what was all in the soup. When my friend voiced about how they should tell the customers about the different substitutes because what about if she was allergic to the substitutes they said “well are you?” My friend said no but she doesn’t eat any of the said substitutes. Instead of offering her a new dish or discount for her meal, they just walked away then proceeded to just stare at us from the bar watching her pick out these ingredients. In conclusion if you go here make sure to ask that they actually have all the ingredients for the ramen before eating...
Read moreDisappointing: For apps, I had the shumai which was pretty good. It was deep fried which is a little odd, but the flavor was great. I also had a spicy crab roll which the flavor was ok, but it had A TON of spicy mayo poured onto it. I love spicy mayo, but it looked sloppy and there was just too much. My partner had the pa stickers, which were also deep fried but tasty.
The disappointment was in the entrees. I had the spicy broth with ramen noodles and I'm not even joking they were top ramen noodles. Overcooked, mushy & disgusting.. The broth was watered down beef broth, no deep flavors and barely a tingle for something considered "spicy". The actual beef in it was fine. They still charged me full price even after eating some of the beef and leaving a full bowl for them to take.
My partner had the drunken noodles which had NO SPICE! The name drunken noodle means that the noodles are so spicy that only a drunk person could taste them, what's up with the lack of spice here? I got a pad thai to go and the flavor is a bit off but they're fine.
I would 100% skip this place and hit up one of the good thai places in Myrtle Beach, we...
