Comfort Inn Conyers — Hotel in Conyers

My husband and I drove from Ohio 12 hours to GA., got here on Friday evening. We got out and about Saturday mid morning and cpame back to the hotel and the electronic lock did not work. Long story short the battery in the electronic lock stopped working. The manager told us to go downstairs and wait in the long until they fixed the lock. About 20 minutes later they came back and said we have to move to the other end of the hall because they didn't know for sure if the locks would do the same thing. I had unpacked my suit case and also had gone to the farmers market and bought fruit, plus we had bought dinner back to the room. After the long drive it was irritating to have to do all this. |||||| The front desk girl offered to help but I didn't want anyone handling my clothes and personal things. My husband later went down stairs and told them how disappointed he was that they would put us in such an OLD room and put us through the headache. We have been choice hotel members forever. We travel a lot and stay most of the time in comfort inn. (Back when this hotel chain was much newer). Anyway, he didn't yell at any one but expressed his aggravation. Next thing we knew the manager(Sue) called our room and told us to pack our stuff and get out. It's about 5:30pm. ARE YOU KIDDING!!! I didn't believe it so we went down stairs to ask if they were serious. YES, THEY WANTED US OUT. There is no freedom of speech. She was offended that we were unhappy with the hotel. But SO WHAT!!! We were tired and agitated but they could have been more professional. ||||Instead she (Sue) talked to us like she owned the hotel, really, really rough and nasty and said since you don't like my hotel GET OUT!!! WE HAD TO LEAVE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EVENING WITH NO RESERVATIONS ANYWHERE ELSE!!! I was so OFFENDED!!! I'LL NEVER, EVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!|||| The hotel is OLD anyway. MANAGEMENT SUCKS. IF you book with a third party like priceline, Expedia, hotwire, booking etc. They are going to give you the WORST rooms in the hotel!!! The duvet covers are too short to cover your head and your feet it's either one or the other. The chairs are so old and beat up and there is no foot rest. The wall paper is peeling, Really sad. I checked in at 3:45 begin to take a shower and found hair in the shower on the shower head that couldn't be mind am a bald head man. I went down to the service desk round 5:30 to explain what I saw and if they would clean my room, give me another room, or give me a refund. In the middle of me explaining this to the desk clerk the owner/ manger had walked up started to speak to me in a very rude way. She told me that she wont do neither and that I could check out and I explain I only been here an hour in a half I will not check out without a refund. She ask the clerk to call the police. I never raise my voice never used any cuss words and never said any thing threating. There was also a white male checking in as she was speaking to me very rudly after he check in he walked up to me and handed me his business card as a witness to what happened at the desk. When the police came she was even rude the police officer. The police officer asked her how do they take care of customers when there a compliant and why couldn't they change my room or give me a refund cause no on will check out without a refund and only been there less then 2 hours. the manger said that she won't and I could leave and that the police could do anything that it was a civil case. This hotel is absolutely the worst place me and my husband have ever stayed in! The room was dirty: the microwave and fridge was filthy (me and hubby cleaned them because hotel staff stated the cleaning crew was gone for the day); public hair was in the tub, hair was on top of the table. Bathroom and foyer floors had not been swept or mopped! We took our complaints to the front desk attendant, she gave us the option to review another room. The second room was clean, yet, the air conditioner was malfunctioning. Thus we could not swap rooms because that was the next too the last room available. The other option was a room that a previous quest turned down due to it not being up to standards. Thus, we opted to stay because we were to tired to seek other accommodations that night! The hotel attendant informed us that we could change room in the morning and she would send the cleaning crew to tidy up the room.... never happened! To add insult to injury, the carpet had not been vacuumed, the elevator inspection was expired by 5 months and the outdoor pool was full of green algae (totally unacceptable). I don't recommend Comfort Inn in Conyers, GA! The hotel is trash! If I could give it zero stars I would. Never again! Horrible just horrible vacation experience!
