Ok okay so I ended up here since ramen night was canceled and I have heard several people mention it before including owners and ppl who work here. So I was like let's give it a whirl.
Several sources told me the burger here was good. I almost despaired when I couldn't find it. Then alas the PUB BURGER (The claw form toy story moment) this was a very unique burger the cheese crisp in the middle thew me off but the meat falls off the bun. It's juicy, it's flavorful WOAH! prob the second best burger I've ever had.... (I'll still put our moms burgers at 1 bc that's their specialty but this gives it a good run)
The best thing though is the beer menu... Rubs fingers together. When I saw different regions on the menu with Belgium and St. BERNARDUS. Even though I said I wouldn't order alcohol I did. I was not let down.... Low and behold it came in a ST. B Official trappist beer glass... Not going to lie I fangirled a little bit. Sometimes it's the little things that go the furthest.
Theres over 90 beers here giving chimes a run for their money at least on beer.
The staff was very friendly for a restaurant, my attendant was awesome which is rare in 2022. Tip of the iceberg
The house fries come with 2 different mayo sauces and a garlic sauce the chili mayo is excellent. The curry mayo is unique.
Clientele at the bar were also very friendly and its nice when you can hear others on their first times complementing the food here.
100% recommend coming here if you are a beer drinker or even for a excellent meal. I can see myself frequenting here quite a bit tho that might not be the best for the pocketbook 😂😂 it's not del Porto prices but it is a wee bit pricy but worth the penny.
Looking forward to trying most of the beers and food on the menu. Another excellent addition to the Northshore
**BEWARE a LA Carte menu if asked about a side it's not included on the menu the sides additional (the fries were 10$) tho normally I'd detract a star here everything else was great I'd not even touch it even if it...
Read moreEDIT: deducting 3 stars, first day open for lunch today 10/21/22, horrible service, went there for lunch, got there around 2, left around 3:30. Took a good 20 min to even get our frickin drinks, there were only 4 other tables occupied in the restaurant, took forever to get our appetizers, then forever to get our entrees, when we finally complained to our waitress, she said they were occupied with prep in the kitchen due to the first day being open for lunch?! Ordered ribeye and fish and chips, not sure what takes so long. Doesn’t matter, not a win for the customer. Again, horrible experience for lunch.
Third night open, it’s a win. The atmosphere is on pointe. This place is excellent. We’ll be back. From the top, ordered a white wine from Portugal (delish) and a red wine from Spain (also delish but full bodied). Clam appetizers were great, husband loved the lamb meatballs and polenta cakes. And he’s not even a fan of polenta. :). I ordered skirt steak, he ordered pork schnitzel, we would recommend both. The chimichurri sauce on the skirt steak was the perfect compliment . Service was excellent and attentive. Desserts of chocolate chip ice cream cookie with caramel ice cream (so so) and chocolate chip ice cream cookie with vanilla (much better). They were out of...
Read moreMy first visit to The Greyhound in Covington. I had the Salmon and a spicy watermelon margarita (with salt). We also ordered the shrimp and white bean appetizer, and the appetizer board.
I personally did not love the appetizer board, but I'm not usually into those types of appetizers, so I have not included it in my review.
I would go here again. Their staff was outstanding and everything ordered looked delicious.
+Pros +Diverse flavor profiles on the menu +Salmon was perfectly cooked, vegetables were perfectly cooked. +White bean appetizer was very flavorful and beautiful. This would be delicious on some Naan or roti ++Creative drink menu and fabulous staff
-Cons -Parking can be tricky but not impossible -May be a little loud on some days, just mention for those with audible sensitivities. -Salmon and vegetables lacked salt for my dish, but that may be since I had to ask for no butter. Salted butter would have most likely...
