Recently I journeyed to Grateful days, a cute hippy store in Dahlonega, Ga. I have to say I am extremely impressed and satisfied with my visit. Living in Braselton I am not able to visit the area as much as I would like but when I do visit, I always try to stop by this store. This place has a fun and inviting vibe every time I walk in, with a wide variety of products to choose from that would excite any hippy. From the decor to the music, my wish is could just live inside the store. Do not even get me started on the amazing customer service.
Once you step foot in the store you immediately notice the atmosphere of the place. Whether your day is good or bad, this store is always good. It was a sweltering day last time I went. The first thing that struck me was the cold breeze of air which hit like a brick and smelled like a field of flowers. Everyone in my group just felt better walking into the store and grew even more excited when we saw the decor. It is so cute; each room had its own vibe. For example, the first room on the right was filled with trinkets, candles, etc. The thing that was so special about this room was that it had a drawing table for children or friends to draw on while you look around. When your masterpiece is complete you are welcome to put their art on a board with other drawings from other customers.
Once you take your attention from the atmosphere of the place you start to look around and see all kind of assorted products, or what I like to say “Happys.” They have anywhere from band tee-shirts to ponchos, blankets to Incense, stickers, and a wide variety of bath products. Of course, there is so much more to choose from but what I liked the most was the woman's clothing. Every time I go, I always end up buying a skirt or two. Just last week I bought the cutest long sleeve crop top with peace signs on them. This shirt along with the countless skirts I have purchased there are such amazing quality. They have lasted me years for such an inexpensive price.
This store has dressing rooms, so you do not have to take a lucky guess and just buy whatever you pick up. My only problem with this is that I had to make my boyfriend guard the area so a breeze would not open the curtain. I just wish the dressing rooms had more protection for the people who do not have someone to make sure nobody or random breeze would open the drapes. Other than this one concern I cannot find fault with anything else.
The customer service made up for the dressing rooms. I did not catch the girls name, but she was so nice. While I was upstairs looking around, she came up to me and ask if I wanted her to take my shirt downstairs to the cash register. I said yes and it was waiting for me at checkout. She was so kind at the register and greeted all the customers that came in. Every customer was warmly greeted on entering and wished a wonderful day as they left. 10/10 customer service.
This place might not be for everyone, but me and my group enjoyed it. If you have a thing for “hippy” aesthetic I recommend this place. Grateful days has everything for people from the 60’s to 20’s. It is not just clothing but is so much more than that and has great music. Overall, I love this place and I will keep going every time I go to Dahlonega. I think...
Read moreWe were so excited when we saw this adorable shop on our recent day trip to Dahlonega! We could smell the Nag Champa as we walked past and knew it was a place we wanted to check out.
The shop has multiple rooms, downstairs and upstairs, full of super groovy items! In addition to having such a wide selection of items, the shop is decorated super cute with bright walls and ceilings and tie dye everywhere.
There is one room dedicated to all Grateful Dead merchandise. They have more gypsy/hippie skirts than I've ever seen in one location, plus other festival-wear type clothing. They sell lots of cute windchimes and prayer flags and other decorative items as well. One room upstairs is filled with band t-shirts and memorabilia. There are plenty of items for kids to choose from as well. Our daughter picked out several items for herself and also enjoyed making a drawing at the little art desk they have set up downstairs.
Other items available include incense, oils, soaps, and other aromatherapy products. Unique jewelry, headbands and scarves, socks, purses and backpacks, magnets, signs, mugs, Baja blankets and ponchos, and so much more! There was retro music playing and Betsy was helpful...
