The staff were all friendly and helpful. From the front desk to the housekeeping and breakfast it was nice talking to them and they always help when we needed it. We were able to check in early which was very helpful. The room we stayed in was a double queen room that was small and it had a desk with chair, a mini fridge, a microwave, and a small bedside table in-between the two beds. The bathroom was standard and it came with the complementary toiletries. The room we had didn’t have the best view (it was looking straight into a parking garage) but we could see reunion tower at a certain angle. The location is amazing we could walk to the location of the JFK assassination, Holocaust Museum, and plenty of nearby restaurants. Not to mention we were in the historic district surrounded by court buildings and other cool places to visit. The major downside is the parking. It was terrible every place is expensive and you are required to walk to the hotel. The one they recommended is close so it wasn’t bad and the price was $10 for 0-12 hours and $20 for 12-24 hours and we payed $10 each night of our stay to leave it there overnight. During the day we relied on the two hour meter parking spots since it’s cheaper. The breakfast was your typical hotel continental breakfast with a couple of options to choose from. There is an amazing restaurant around the corner walking to your left leaving the hotel that is amazing if you don’t want to have the hotel’s breakfast it’s so good it’s called “Cindi’s NY Deli & Restaurant” they do close at 2pm but they are amazing. They also had a laundry area you could use which came in handy for us. If you are a big walker I definitely recommend this hotel it is close to many cool things but if you struggle with walking for long periods of time I wouldn’t. If you don’t have a car it’s also good so you don’t have to deal with the parking.
Overall loved the staff and location but the parking was terrible and the room was smaller than other holiday inns...
Read moreWell clutch my pearls and anything else of value you may own. We have grown fond of the Holiday Inn Express hotels lately. They are a good value, always clean rooms and great staff. However, this location is a major exception. The hotel DOES NOT have any parking unless its on the street. Depending on what you drive this is not a safe or smart option. Parking is available at the Marriot two buildings down at $45.00 per night (defeats the great rate of the hotel). Front door was broken during our stay and the lobby was sweltering. During breakfast a crow or some kind of bird decided he would join the guests. He walked around eating food off the floor, dive bombing toward guests, and walking across tables and the backs of chairs. We had a king suite (I'm sure the bed was a queen). There was nothing suite or sweet about the room. Sticking up a room divider, putting tv's on each side and adding doll house sized furniture gives she shed/man cave vibes. Door to the cabinet that holds the fridge and safe wouldn't close because the mini fridge was to large. We had a corner room (702) with a view of the Marriot parking garage on one side and a club on the other. No rest for the weary in this room. The area is sketchy/shady and made for a stressfull stay. I could not wait to check out. So sad as this was our first bad experience with HIE. If this location wants to be comparable with other HIE's they really, really need to figure some things out. They need parking vouchers, a shuttle and security both inside and out. I thought the staff was nice enough and were working with the scraps they were given. The 73 y/o security guard was the highlight of the stay (best personality ever). I would NEVER EVER, EVER, EVER stay at this location again. I recommend you check out the other locations within a few miles radius...
Read moreI stayed for a couple days in March 2023. There was ongoing construction throughout the whole property at ALL hours of the day. It was loud and I could hear it throughout the day time and night time. I even went to get ice on the floor above me at midnight and found very nice men doing construction at that time. It’s not their fault. They were just doing their jobs. ADDITIONALLY, because of the construction, there was NO AVAILABLE PARKING at the actual hotel. We were given a paper with two public parking lots. The $15 parking lot (cheapest option) is about a 5 minute walk if you walk quickly. It’s just scary to park your car faraway in an opened lot overnight with no security. It was also scary having to walk back to the hotel after dark with my belongings. Therefore, I would not recommend this location for safety reasons. The website did not advertise that the parking offered was off-site and away from the hotel. It simply stated, “$15 dollar daily fee for parking- no parking on premises.” One would assume that since we were paying for parking it was a valet or private parking situation. I also think that the information with the parking and checkin instructions should be posted on the webpage. We were so confused as to where to park and how to enter the building when I first arrived. I also would not recommend the location because of the construction. I was not able to sleep. However, the staff was friendly and the things wrong with my stay were probably out of their control. Maybe they should stop construction or working on rooms during “common” sleep hours or at least advertise it on their page so people are aware of it. I am a FAITHFUL Holiday Inn customer and always recommend them but I would not recommend this location until the construction and parking situation...
