My wife and I stayed here for almost 2 months as we waiting on an apartment to come available. Let me say, not only did the stay make me unsure about ever staying at an IHG property that isn't corporately-owned again. ONSITE MANAGER: Janay GENERAL MANAGER: Shaun
Initially, when we chose to stay here, we were unsure the length of time we would be staying because I had just recently moved back into the country from living abroad. We were initially paying the daily rate. After a week of staying and deciding we would just stay put until our apartment is ready. From that moment, our billing was not only inconsistent, but we also were having money withdrawn from our card on file with no explanation from the management team. Although this happened, we tried to work with the management team to fix because to be quite honest, moving from hotel to hotel while working and freshly returning to the country is a bit much. We kept constant communication with Janay who stated she had been in communication with Shaun (whom we never had an opportunity to even talk to about our issue). In total, we spent almost $4.5k for two months which was not what was communicated...we just accepted it and eventually left. We were not the only long-term guests with this issue either. Even more concerning, the staff was constantly changing and having chaotic public disagreements. On two occasions, drugs (crack) were smoked in the first level guest bathroom causing fire alarms to go off and the police to show up.Although we were friendly with some of the staff members, the stress of feeling like we were being mistreated financially mixed with the constant chaotic behavior from staff members and guests was more than we were prepared to continue to deal with. After a time of trying to rectify issues with staff and management as a whole, we began to be accused of elicit behaviors that we were not even participating in. Overall, even though the hotel is beautiful and SOME of the staff is friendly and genuine, I would suggest anyone reading this stay away from this property.
ALSO, for the company spokesperson who may reply to this, DON'T. It's been months and we have written dozens of emails without a response. Your feelings about guest concerns are...
Read moreI went to stay at this location for my birthday weekend and the stay was not pleasant. I checked in and my heater didnât work so we had portable heaters to keep us warm. Mind you it was in the teens at night so it was freezing. We had air blowing in our faces while we slept (cold air) and woke up with sore throats the nights we stayed there. I told the guy on Saturday when I checked in I wanted to switch rooms due to the heating. He said he couldnât change my room that day because they were full but for sure the next day which was Sunday. We go and eat breakfast and return to our room to get ready for the day and our power was out. We were the only room that had no power so we had to wait for maintenance to come fix it and I told the lady at the front desk about the air and now the power out so I wanted to switch rooms that day. She said thatâs fine that she would call me. Never got a call and stayed another night in the room. Woke up with body aches because it was so cold and sore throats again. At this point we are at Monday and we go to the lobby to have breakfast and once again we return to our room and there is no electricity. We call the front desk and they have maintenance go out again. At this point itâs 9 AM and check out is at 11 AM. We didnât have time to get ready to leave. With no lights and on the clock to check out we literally packed our stuff and just left before check out time. This experience really bummed my birthday expectations because I could of went anywhere else and chose here. The lack of assistance to find a solution to my issues was careless. I shouldnât have to hound down your staff to make my stay comfortable as all customers should have a nice stay. I wonât be going back to this location. I was still charged the same amount despite of all these issues. I donât have a problem paying but I wish I had a better experience...
Read moreWe have been choosing Holiday Inn Express's since 2008. Will be sharing with you pro's and cons of this property.
Pro: The Location, you can get off and on quickly from a couple of major interstates
Con: Many homeless/beggars work the corner in front to the hotel, cannot truly walk around outside
Pro: the rooms were clean
Con: They use that "carpet fresh" on the carpets which puts too much chemicals and purfume smells in the air, especially if can't take strong smells
Pro: the staff was very nice
Con: one staff member was way to slow checking people in or out, as if he could not work the computer
Pro: the woman working Monday through Friday doing the breakfast kept the area clean and was very present
Con: they do not restock food items well towards closer to the end time breakfast. No real cream was available for coffee, just the coffee mates
Pro: no pets allowed, which is great for those that have allergies
Con: the printer was "down" the whole week were were there, was wondering if they just didn't want to put ink in it!
We picked this location while in Dallas/Ft Worth/Plano area cause they were the only Holiday iinn that has a no pet policy. IT IS BECOMING HARD TO FIND THOSE WITH HOLIDAY INN EXPRESSES. PEOPLE HAVE PET ALLERGIES AND DON'T LIKE TO THINK THAT THEY WILL SLEEP IN A BED THAT COULD HAVE FLEAS/TIGGERS (MY HUSBAND HAS HAD BEEN BIT BEFORE). Also, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, FIND CLEANING PRODUCTS THAT DO NOT HAVE STRONG PERFUMES, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED CORPORATELY!! Not all locations use the carpet stuff, those are the ones I would perferred to stay in. If there was another Holiday Inn Express near by that did not allow pets and did NOT use the "carpet fresh" we would have moved.
All in all, staff nice, oh, the elevator floor was NOT clean and was sticky most, if not...
